Question regarding the Hd598 + xonar dg

Hey gents,

I just got my new hd 598 + xonar DG sound card. However, i'm a bit confused.

1- Should i be plugging in my headphones in the 5.1 jack or in to the headphone jack on the card?

2- Does anyone have an optimal setting recommendations for using these headphones with the built in xonar dg audio center?

3- Should I / Do i have to set the sound card as the default sound output of my computer for optimal results?

Thanks in advance!

Hopefully you disabled the motherboard's on-board audio?  in the BIOS.

Disabling on-board audio will automatically make the Xonar DG the default sound output (card).

You plug the headphones into the dual use "front" speaker/headphone jack.

Try setting the gain on both the 32-64 and >64, use which ever sounds better to your ears.

Try installing the "Unified Xonar Drivers".

The program Foobar2000 seems to do a good job with audio (music) files.
