Hi people smily_headphones1.gif
As the title is saying I'm in for an upgrade to my audio equipment. I'm looking to buy my second (propper) headphones and AMP + DAC. I'm listening mostly to metal and alternative rock, like paramore, nightwish, flyleaf, etc.
I will be using my computer as the source playing mostly FLAC-files, but I also use spotify some times.

The equipment I own and use today is:
Cans: Soundmagick hp 100
AMPand DAC: O2+ODAC Combo

I have a total budget of aproximately 1500USD for this, but it can be raised.

It doesent matter if the cans are open or closed and the AMP and DAC don't have to be in one piece.

Feel free to advise me or just to coment some of the advises.

consider planar headphones such as, HE 400/500 or LCD 2.

I do not have any experience with tube amp at summit or midfi range.

For a $3000 budget, you should be posting in the summit hi-end audio forum: http://www.head-fi.org/f/113/high-end-audio-forum
