Wish these had been for sale two months back when I had the money saved up. ah well.someday I will own a pair.(I just hope I can get them for $300 when that day comes). out of curiosity how do the D2000 compare to the DT 770 80 ohm version?

The DT770 have more mid-bass and low-mids but they sound slow and congested compared to the D2000.  If you are looking at the discontinued Denons I can assume you are either a basshead or looking to spend way to much money on mods.  If you are the former I would say, without out question, that the D2000 is worth the price difference between it and the DT770.  It's also a heck of a lot prettier, if correspondingly more fragile.  These are still for sale btw, let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the comparison with the DT 770's.I do love a strong bass presence in my music and headphones as i listen to a lot of electronic music. and I am interested in the D2000's but am skint atm as mentioned, though I have a few things up locally on Craigslist (i.e. synthesizer, midi keyboard etc) which I imagine are more likely to sell after X-Mas when people have gift money to spend and believe me if you still have the D2000 after I raise the cash I will be messaging You ASAP.
