I have a pair of Koss UR/29 Collapsible Monitoring Headphones with a 8' cord with an in-line Volume Control Switch that kept cutting out. So, I decided to gut it and totally rewire it. All the original wiring is now gone, along with the in-line Volume Control Switch.
Now, it works fine, no more cutting out, with a new 4' cord, as the 8' original cord was way too long.
Tear-down and reassembly was a slow process, as was removing ALL the wires from the left speaker to the right speaker and replacing them with better quality wires (phone line - red/green).
