im currently deciding between the PSB M4U1 & the V moda M 100's i listen to techno, hip/hop, r&b & reggae looks & portability dont matter, i prefer a closed headphone, my source will be an iphone 5 with music from "itunes" my maximum budget is 350$ i live in the US and i dont want TOO much bass just something enough for my music choice & something with good highs but not too sharp .! which do you think of those to would be best for me.? or do you recommend others? thanks guys

I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either one. If you're looking for greater style and portability, them I would say go for the M-100's. Otherwise, I would say get the PSB + a portable amp, as it is cheaper than the M-100.

Another thing to consider is your ear shape/size. Just looking at the PSB makes me wary of it being comfortable. Many M-100 users have reported comfort issues, but many have been resolved with the introduction of the XL Pads. Of course, it will ultimately come down to your personal preference on the comfort.

I reckon the V-Moda's are killer - great bass, great looks, great comfort, great durability, great portability (white looks best imo)
You can't go wrong!

The Bowers and Wilkins P5's are also quite punchy with the bass but are not really bassy headphones. I'm not sure bout the price in USD but in AUD here (in Australia) it is about $375 which means it should be a lower figure in the US. SOL republics are also bassy but many argue that they have no midrange and sharp highs.

I only had the chance to audition m50 recently and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. I auditioned it straight out from xperia z playing flac files. Bass is thumping but the clarity of the mid is maintained. The high is abit roll off so it is not harsh. You don't have to spend all 35, right?wink.gif

I cant comment on the ATG ws99 but the Mids and highs are clear on the M-100 but aren't fatiguing at all

Neither is sharp or fatiguing. The mids are laid back on the m100 and theyre slightly more upfront and intimate on the ws99. I prefer the ws99.
