Help improving set up for he500??

Hey guys, I wanna keep this short! Basically i have the he500s hooked up to an aune t1 at the mo, It drives them fine but i would like a litlle more umph or any improvement in sound quality really, I can just tell they have alot more potential and have not yet come alive , However money is a big issue esp at this time of year in particular!

Iam considering buying an asgard2 and keeping the aune t1 as a dac? Would this be a significant upgrade? worth it?

Money is tight so i really cant afford alot , I know alot of ppl recommend the lyr/bifrost combo but even second hand is too expensive plus i can only ever find the us versions, anyway thats besides the point... What do people think of me running them off of the asgard and aune t1?

Any other suggestions?

Might want to look at the gear from Shiit, like a Modi / Magni. Don't let the price fool you its some good stuff.

I am sure other more experienced member will have other options as well.

Enjoy your HE-500s!

Take a good look at the O2 dac/amp combo.  JDS in the States and Epiphany acoustics in the UK make their own flavours.  I own one (epiphany acoustics build) and use it to drive a HE-500 now.  Works like a charm, very neutral and has ample power + dead quiet background  (like a black hole even with gain/volume cranked up and no music playing), very low distortion....if you want to go ss then this represents the best bang/buck ratio I've ever seen.  Google it, the designer has some issues with the admins of this site but technically and going by the specs this is absolutely top class and it has a minimal footprint.  I use it at the office, at home I have a V800/V200 DAC/AMP combo which is 15 times more expensive and offers more but not (with the HE-500) 15 times more.  Also own a FiiO E17/E09K combo which costs more than the O2 but it doesn't even come close.

EHP-O2D Miniature Desktop Headphone Amplifier with USB DAC?

Yes, though (at least in the UK) you can get both separately too but I own the integrated unit.  Like its extremely small footprint, ideal for an office desk.

You see guys, i have the aune t1 and if iam correct in saying so, alot of peeps actually prefer it over the magni/modi combo , Iam really looking to improve on that without spending alot , The asgard2 would obviously be a step up in class over the amp of the aune t1 so thought that might be a decent upgrade
