Need some recommendations(IEM)

Greetings . As the title says biggrin.gif
Im in need of help to find the perfect universal iem that would suit me .
I listen to a variety type of music listing some of then would be
(instrumentals) wide range
From classics like Yanni , flaminco like Al Marconi ,folk metal instrumentals like Isara by eluveitie.
---
Country music , Zac Brown Band , Amos Lee , blake Shelton and a few others
---
Heavy metal - iron Maiden, DIO and such
Power Metal - Stratovarius , Falconer , Blind Guardian , Sabaton
Folk Metal - Eluveitie
Thrash - Metallica
Rock, Hard Rock-3 doors down, 3 days grace , five fingers death punch...etc
____
And according to my music I really don't care much of having a powerful bass , but would love a clear and natural bass to hear the bass from songs like (Heaven and Hell) by black sabbath. But mainly I want something that would let me clearly hear every instrument that is being harmonized in the songs listened , something that would also give the singer justice and let's you listen to what his voice as clear as possible. My current music player is the galaxy note 3 , and it has a decent overall audio quality and a dac capable of playing uhq audio , not that I will purchase any 24 bit music. And woud like to also know if it's worth investing on a portable dac like the fiio mont blanc or the e17 and which is a better dac/amp to purchase

Price range update : up to 500$

Price range?

If you are open to price, go with the Vsonic gr07s. Those are awesome for what you want. Maybe Brainwavz b2? SOmething cheaper would be the gr06. Something more expensive maybe the Westone 4.

The vsonic gr07 has a pretty epic price point. However is the westone 4

Really better ? Since its over double the price of the gr07 . And if it is . How better is it ? Is the price justified? And would you recommend getting a dac like the fiio e17?

Yea im not exactly sure how much better the westone 4 is. Youll have to do that research yourself :) (sorry lol but my knowledge doesnt extend over everything ...im not Joker or someone :)).

Umm In my opinion though the double price isnt that justified, and I would go with the gr07 just to have some leftover cash on other stuff. But the westone 4 may have better durability (Especially with the 4rs removable cables) and I think the westone customer service is better.

And i know that the gr07 can be easily driven from even such a simplistic device like an iphone, so not much of a need for a dac, but if you want it sure go ahead; more power will help the sq.

The Westone 4 is 320 bucks on amazon right now which is an AMAZING deal so you may wanna think about that.

Ok, so I've heard both and the W4 is definitely better and maybe if you wait for a sale in the 4s, they might even go to under $300.
A GR07 used is around $100 and that is an awesome deal.

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner.

Yea man for sure Ill try to do my best to answer you but honestly it may be more fruitful to research other forums on head fi because there are many far more knowledgeable than I am. That being said, I dont really research a lot of over the ear headphones, and when I do its usually closed ones. So if I were you I would find some nice ones on amazon or some website in different price ranges and then start looking at them in Head Fi threads. Most likely, people will recommend other open ones and your search will just get guided by that. It may take some time but this is how you find whats best for you; by yourself :).

Sorry I couldnt be that helpful :(

I see that the W4 was mentioned before, personally I found the UE900s to be a tad bit nicer for bass cleaniness/clarity, excluding the midbass where my W4s (yes I own them and yet I'm recommending against them in this case) have this nice-ish decay and overhang that gives off a nice sensation of tightness and punch.

Heck, in terms of separation/distinctness of instrument placement - that's what I'm reading your second point as meaning -  I'd prefer the UE900 or even the ER4 (the latter wouldn't likely have the "natural" qualities you'd be looking for though - usually that's what I infer from someone who uses that term for bass, although you might define it differently in which case perhaps being more specific about it would be beneficial on both ends). The presentation is more clear-cut than on the W4 - which tends towards a warmer, more cohesive presentation. Not to say that it's not good in terms of technical ability when discerning placement and seperation - it's absolutely fine - it's just not the specific presentation that it's going for.

For IEMs, unless your DAP is terribly distorted, has high hiss, high impedance output, there wouldn't be much benefit - more power output is pretty meaningless for sensitive IEMs. The Note 3 is lovely so I wouldn't find much of a need to invest in something that adds extra bulk and little else.
