New headphones and amp/dac with expandability

So I'm in the market for a new pair of headphones, to add to my computer setup, along with my speakers (Swans M10).
Due to that, I'd like to have a seamless experience going back and forth between speakers and headphones, be it a toggle, a switch, simply dialing the volume knob on each device, etc.

To handle that job, I've been looking at the Fiio e07k, with a later upgrade / pair with the e09k, so I can have a DAC with multiple outputs, for the headphones as well as the speakers, without moving a lot of cables around. This also ties into getting the output of my laptop passed through, at some point.
The e07k would also be used on the laptop, when I'm on the move, so that ties nicely into the portable aspect of it.

For the headphones, I've been looking at the Fidelio X1's, which appear to be great for the price.

I listen to varied genres, consisting of, but not limited to, metal, classical, pop and rock. Primarily metal, however. So I want a pair of headphones that are good all around, with some bass (I don't listen to electronic music, but I still like to get a punch), while still supporting some female vocals (Nightwish, Within Temptation, Halestorm, to name a few).

My former experience with headphones are limited to a couple of gaming headset, as well as a pair of Denon AH-D1100's, which I've enjoyed thus far.

So what I want to know is, am I on the right track here? I'm looking at around €300, which is more or less what I'm aiming at spending in total (it could get stretched slightly). Suggestions are obviously very welcome, particularly alternatives to the amp/dac part, if anything else can be found in similar price ranges.

So after some more research, I've looked at the Aune X1, and it matches my needs more or less perfectly. I can use TOSLINK for my desktop, and usb for my laptop, and just switch between them. And it also has the pre-amped output for my speakers.

So I'm more or less settled on grabbing that, even though it stretches the budget up to around €400 (It's still less than both fiio devices, however). So the last thing is the headphones, does anyone have notes on that, or do you think it matches my use-case?

Also consider the Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 Plus. Has the option of a pre-amp out for your speakers that is controlled by the volume control and has tube sound or a direct line out that bypasses the tube pre-amp (note that the headphone output does not have the tube sound).

That one looks great, definitely fits my criteria's, and with some upgradability, I think it just took the X1's place!
Is there any european retailers for it, or is the only place to get them at Maverick's own site?
Regardless, I'll definitely look more into it, thanks for the link!
