I have A 30 and I also drive my speakers Q acoustics with this amp.

That's a UK retailer. None of the US stores/websites sell pioneers a series.

It is a great amp series. That is bad, that you can't order it.

yeah, it's too bad. It being a receiver would have been convenient for my ps3.

Hi all,

I have a good oportunity to buy K612s for under 70$ and I have only one concerne. The only amp I've got is the one in FiiO E07K. I've made some research and calculations of voltage, resistance, power and SPL and have some numbers for orientation.
Does anyone have FiiO E07K + K612s combination? How do they work together? Is E07K sufficient for good listening at respectable levels. I listen mostly to rock and soul.

Thanks in advance!

I had combined fioo e17k with k 612 pro. I would say it was ok, but not the best you can get. I think a normal stereo amp, will drive them better, like my pioneer a 30. But you can not take it with you.😊

Thanks for your help and opinion. As I can see E17K has little less power than E07K according to their specs. I calculated I could easily get 111 dB SPL with E07K. That seems reasonable if it so.

I hope the E07K is significantly better sounding than the E7, which I owned until a few weeks ago. In essence, it was a sonic eraser. These are very transparent cans, especially the K702, and they'll reflect what's fed into them. Good luck.

I cannot compare the two since I haven't had the chance to try E7. I cannot also compare audio quality of E07K since this is my first amp, DAC is really good. I can only say I really like the sound I'm getting. It puts smile on my face :)

Note that the E17K is rated for up to 150 ohm, vs. 100 ohm on the E07K, and the E17K has a bit more peak to peak voltage. So the E17K might be a bit better at driving the K612 Pros.

I see what you mean. I'll try them with E07K if I get opportunity and then decide to buy. Thanks for your help guys!

I think you should. But I would suggest that if the E07K is not enough for you, then the E17K would only be a minor increase and not worth the effort. You'd need to go to something like the FiiO E12. Or perhaps the Cayin C5: http://penonaudio.com/Cayin-C5. There's been a lot of talk lately about it being a good alternative to the E12 (research it).

Aside from color, is there any difference between the pads of the k701, k702, and q701?

It seems that with K701/K702, there are some versions that have non-angled pads. I'm not sure if this is the case with the Q's as well, but up till now all the Q's that I've seen come with angled earpads.

I'm assuming though that all of the angled pads are made with the same materials/impart the same tone?

Also does anyone know if these pads are legit?

All the angled pads I've tried on various K701's, K702's, and Q701's over the years had the same materials, size and had the same sound.

However, the early K701's did have different inner foam inserts that were thinner and denser which DOES change the sound a bit. It made the sound brighter/more open compared to the newer thicker/more porous foams to my ears.
