Well if you check other amp manufacturers, that's in the ballpark of high-end portable AMP/DACs (>= 300). If you rate their features compared to theirs then you can certainly make a point that it is not providing the same functionality than those high-end amp/dacs.

R they gonna release AK20 with two dac and price it at 800?

I thought D12 does all these with coax/optical/usb already

looking from the official AK website,

it seems that this thing doesn't have a dedicated power supply(battery), meaning that it will draw out your source's power.

 

i mean.. this is okay for iPod which have enough battery life already, but i don't think that i will use this as my prime DAC as it will draw power from my phone.. i'm having a difficulty just by staying alive for 10 hours..

Just tried this yesterday with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. 

 

It sounds pretty good and having significant improvement on the bass response and sound stage with my UE900.

 

I found a problem after the test. When I unplugged AK10 from the USB and plug my IEM to the phone out again, my phone told me that the phone is plugged but I can't heard anything. I have to restart the phone to get it back to normal.

ipod nano 7G just got an update, thought it will make it AK10 compatible, I was wrong :(
