Apple Design M6082 Restoration/Customization

I acquired a pair of these speakers at a surplus store for $5 with no power adapter.  The Apple specific power plug quickly became a non-issue when I tested the speaker suspensions, which ended up being rotten.  But I found a re-foam kit for them on eBay for next to nothing so that wont be an issue.

I figured I may as well go through the innards, and refinish the shells while I'm at it.  So they will get bipolar output caps, bypassed with films, relocated to the drivers themselves so I don't have to worry about cap diameter at the PCB, and other cap updates and upgrades.  I'd like to swap the old, green LED for something else, possibly a UV LED or white)

In the meantime I am refinishing the shells (haven't decided on a color, but probably black or gray:

This is a test run to see how the black looks. I'll use it as a guide-coat for the final paint.
