Hey guys, so I did my research and came down to this 3. My genres are are mostly rock and some metal. Now I have to choose between them and will be really glad for suggestions.

Thing I want to compare:

Soundstage

SQ (overall)

SQ(for price)

Value

Sorry for bad english >< and thanks to whoever helps :P

Take the Momentum, as most Apple Store has it, but cable for it is hard to come by as it uses a lock 2.5mm plug on the headphone end.  The MDR-1R has the best value and best comfort, but has a slight jack issue with some easy fix.  Others like the KEF M500 but I have no idea on this one.

I own all of those:

Soundstage-             KEF>1R>>>Momentum

SQ Overall-              KEF>Momentum>1r

SQ Price-                 KEF>Momentum=1r

Value-                      KEF>Momentum=1r

The KEF wins!

Hey man first thing thank for the comparison!

Now here's the thing- The KEF seems like a really good all around but problem is that I heard their isolation is not too good. Another thing is the EQ on them, I heard they're just flat. I'm not a basshead or treblehead but I was thinking it would the music a little bit boring, am I right?

The KEF500 is quite neutral,in other words if the song has a lot of bass it will have a lot of bass on the KEF500.Its not colorful,as it wont add bass(or treble or mids) to songs that dont actually have it.

Of the 3 the KEF500 blows away the Momentums, havent heard MDR so cannot say,but I really like the KEFs

As far as isolation goes,it does bleed a bit but nothing extreme like an open ear can.

The KEF is also extremely easy to drive and sounds great w/o an amp

The momentum does however have better isolation and build quality.

Go with momentums. Great sound and feel tho top of headband is a tad hard. Keffs r wonderfully portable and have an almost perfect soundstage for 300$ but just don't fit well on any size head.

Soundstage is a really big deal for me to be honest. About the KEF, I heard the headband is just oversized but my head is pretty big so I think it's gonna be allright. My only concern is about the isolation, could you make a comment about that section?
