Any reports on a K812 re-cable?

I am looking into a UPOCC silver recable.

I've been using the Toxic Cables BW with my 812: it enhances the sig of the 812 while improving the SQ. I also have the DHC hybrid cable: I don't use it that much as I find the sound is too thin because of the silver. smily_headphones1.gif

I have the K812 and LCD-X and I'm trying to decide which to keep for use straight into the Hugo.  Anybody else tried this?  The K812 is much more comfortable.  The two sound very different but I need to let them both burn in some more, especially the LCD-X.

I didnt go for the LCD-X because it was less comfortable than the k812. The way I decided is that if I couldn't wear a headphone for more than 4 hours then it isn't worth keeping.

Also drive the k812 with the Hugo and it sounds extremely musical to my ears. Love the sound of cymbals now!

Thank you for the reply.

I have had excellent results with the Headphone Lounge UP-OCC silver litz cables: big, detailed soundstage with natural weight and--yes!--warmth.

Will most probably go with the silver cable and [Deo volente] report back on the Headphone Lounge/AKG K812 synergy later.

If anyone is interested in trying a new amp out for these, a certain website that shall not be named is selling the new Bakoon HPA-01 at $1200 (MSRP is $1800), with 7 days remaining on the deal. It's basically a lite version of the $3000 HPA-21. Bakoon makes current output amps that's like none other on the market. While I've not heard any pairing impressions between a Bakoon amp and the K812, I know from personal experience, the K812 sounded right in between the signatures of the HD800 and the TH900, when I compared them side by side. The K812 is also similar to the TH900 in that they are both dynamic drivers, low impedance, and have flat impedance curves. The current output can significantly change the sound if the impedance curve is not flat. I bring up the similarities with the TH900 because the reviewer on Headfonia was gushing on the pairing of the TH900 with another Bakoon current output amplifier.

Just came back from a road trip and found a brand new pair of K812's at my door. As this is my 3rd pair in less than a year I'm keeping my fingers crossed thar these will hold up.
So back to a little burn in.

Thanks for the support. For what it's worth, the serial no of my last pair was 001621. The newest pair is 004688.

Just 2plus hours in on the new pair, and they sound great. I tried using my HD800's over the last several weeks, but they just don't do it for me. I feel at home in the K812. Like a nice pair of slippers on a cold night with a glass of wine. These for me are just right. Just hope I don't have any more issues with these.
