I plan to get the Beyerdynamic Headzone H1 for watching Blurays and playing PS4 with my k812.
But what really scares me is the 100ohm output of that thing.
Can i get rid of that problem by connecting my Yulong U100 amp behing the Headzone ? biggrin.gif
PS4 > Headzone > Yulong > K812?

PS4 > Headzone > Yulong > K812?
I have Headzone H1 and all my headphones are fine with the 100 Ohm output. Sound is close to Phonitor. With movies, Headzone makes huge difference.

Hey guys, I've been giving the AKG a real look lately. I've got a HD-800 now but it's such a pain in the butt to drive correctley. I do a lot of gaming, movies, music out of my AK-240. I really would like something that bring up the low end, give me that kick when I need it. Plus, I just don't find the sennheiser fun. Any input or advice is helpful. Thanks

Did u test it with the K812 or another 32ohm Headphone?

If you like the sound signature of the HD800, you'll love the K812. Very similar yet different. The K 812 is definently the fun headphone off the two, with deeper bass and more of a sense of real presence. The 800 is mighty fine, but hard to warm up to.

lol man. The k812 is 32 ohms... I don't really know how that would turn out.

macbob has been listening to his k812's from a nad c375bee headphone out, which is 68ohms and says it sounds fine.  i'm expecting my k812's on monday and have the same amp, so i'll get to see if i agree.

That depends on the recording and genre of music. I prefer the K812 generally on rock, pop, and jazz. The HD800 is clearly the winner with classical. However, quite often I prefer the HD800. So no set in stone answers. Boils down to personal preferences.

I am currently using the Phonitor 2 for the K812 and the HD800, it synergises well with both of them.

I find that the K812 is more detailed with the instruments than the HD800 with my WA7+ODAC. But the vocals on the HD800 sounds incredibly amazing. But like many have said before, it really depends on the kind of music you listen to. K812 = rock, edm, pop, anime, VGM. HD800 = classical, R&B, slow, country. Those are my personal preference. Although I also find that acoustic guitar songs sound bright on the HD800 and prefer to listen to acoustic guitars on the K812

How is the sound stage in comparison with HD800?

I think it has been said several times that K812 cannot beat HD800 in terms of soundstage... but they are not that far from the Senns.
