I think you would love it. Sound is the best I've heard with any phone I have heard or owned.

Hearing both the 812 and the 800 on the Linear SE, they both are much closer than I heard before. The 812 still has a fuller, deeper bass and more body to the music, but the 800 presents a beautifully balanced sound. Very articulated bass and great mids and highs. They don't sound as lean as they did on the Schitt amps.
As a quick follow up, I did a direct comparison with the 812 and the 800 on the new Mahler 9th Symphony by Dudamel, and the 812 was better. The extra mid bass body and bass gave the more musical presentation to me.

That would be the best way, but it's not unreasonable to trust Tyll more than some anonymous guys on an audio forum when trying to decide whether to spend $1500.

I should also inform everyone that when I give my review on these, I may not be bother too much by the treble, even if it is harsh. I found myself not too much bothered by treble after undergoing treble training with the T90. I remember when I first got the HE-500, I found I had to EQ up the treble by 10 dB to get it to the sound I was used to coming from the T90. Of course, I find the treble of the HD800 perfectly fine.

The T90's are probably Tyll's nightmare headphones. :D

Again, I say, have a listen for yourself. smily_headphones1.gif

I haven't found the treble on the HD800 or the K812 troublesome, at least to my aging ears.

Well if you ever find yourself forgetting what treble sounds like, grab a T90!

And I say take the TH challenge: listen to his test tracks compared with HD800, if you aren't chicken about understanding his complaint. This goes for the others too. It's the first thing I'll be doing if I decide to buy it.

Well it looks like the K812 has arrived in Atlanta, so it should be delivered tomorrow. :)

I have both cans. No issue on my music collection. That's all that matters to me. smily_headphones1.gif
