There is also another bodily fluid we forgot about... considering that most audiophiles are male, and we keep speaking of "eargasms" wink.gif

Ooooooh, you went there! Haha, I am going to veto that one outright. We don't need this thread going down that path...

But, sir, you have a dirty mind, I appreciate how outside the box your thinking is! You get the award for most creative senario up to this point!

"The big reveil is almost here! HeadFi can almost go back to its regular scheduling..." I feel like this whole experience is an excerpt from Tales from the Crypt or the Outter Limits! Everyone has been a such a good sport, indulging me in my "campfire story-telling" style. In the end, it's almost as if we have reached the shocking season finale of Walking Dead or Breaking Bad! I will not leave such cliff hangers like those two shows are known for!

(PS, please no spoilers... I am a season behind on both shows!!!!)

Maybe just HD800's with the 'pongy' mothball packed pads mod ? Probably a result of someone experimenting with the Jung-Heinrich olfactory psycho-accoustic effect.

Apparently while listening to music a strong pungent ammonia smell can initiate a psycho-accoustic effect in the hypothalamus, creating a perceived increase in a stereo sound fields depth and width, while fruity, acidic sweet smells have the opposite effect. It is a well documented phenomenon and even massively noticeable in non scientific 'home' environments.

LOL of course that's what I was referring to... what were you guys thinking? ;)

But of course we can rule that out; earwax doesn't smell that bad.

It can if you've had an ear infection...

I won't dare feed the trolls, but I have to point out that nothing I have said has been far fetched... everything super out there has been comment/responses. smily_headphones1.gif

Just sharing my story, I have been surprised to get such positive reactions to my awkward experience. I was not expecting that so many people could get so heated about the pace at which I share my lil' tale.

(Dare I fan the flame and play devil's advocate: I would like to remind everyone of Guitar Center's 30 Day satisfaction guarantee policy... if I planned on stringing everyone along, I could easily draw it out for the 30-day countdown.)

... with that out of the way, try to have fun, but please don't get bent out of shape, this thread was meant to be enjoyable.

That depends on the Wino it came from and how much Mad Dog he's been drinking.

Yeah, ear infections can be on the bugle.

I think the most possible reason for the debilitating stench was the headphones were subjected to the Anaxilus mod.

The modder could not find the necessary materials at hand so a putrid set of socks were used for the material.

Either that, or the insides were subjected to some gorgonzola cheese lodgement in the cups.

Okay. This **** is starting to get annoying. Can you just tell us what's going on? Youve wrote enough responses to have written three more installments by now...

Yes, he has, and you've bitten........

This is about taking funny facts and making them sound a thousand times more fun than real life.
"look, I got these new hd800 from GC. They smell like (x)!" wouldn't make for a very good read no matter what x turns out to be, would it? wink.gif
