How come the Roxanne can't go balanced?

Well...I'm sure it could, but not with the aftermarket cable I have. The Roxanne has a special connection, and I wouldn't want to buy another ~200€ cable to run them balanced.

Buy a €50 soldering station ;)

Sorry to keep nagging you - Which source will you be using? I hope you'll share your impressions of the K10 with and without the SR71-B.

I'm considering going RWAK100 > SR71B > K10

I'll try to review them in se and balanced mode. The sr71b is the only amp I have

I tried the Alo RX mk IIIb with my 8.A but found it to be an  unbearable noisefest with them - not to mention VASTLY overpowered. As soon as the volume pot cleared the channel imbalance at the lowest setting, it was too loud with the 8.A, even on low gain. How does the SR71B fare with IEMs? I see that it powers the HE-6 so I'm afraid it might just be another overpowered monster for my iems.

Well... The rsa is less powerful I think. With my miracles, it was a bit loud, but not crazy loud.
What I simply did, was to lower the volume of my music in the iTunes library. Just a bit. And then the 71b became eminently usable — and enjoyable.

Oh... And there is also no hiss at all

With my DX100 and DX50 I have a very clean, variable line out due to their digital volume control, directly on the DAC chip. So if there is no hiss, it should work just fine.

I've spent the day in the company of the DX50 with the R1 amp strapped to it and I must admit this is really quite good with the K10. So much so, that I'm considering if the DX50 with an amp should be my primary setup...

I'm wondering if I shouldn't do the same. The clas r is a good device in itself, but I sometimes feel the sound signature lacks in punch or "meatiness". But i'll take care of this later

Hope see comparisons with many other high end ciems!JH13, Miracles, NT6 and the like.

I'm only gonna be able to compare it to the miracles. And from memory.

That would be something already. You could do worse and compare them now, anticipated sound vs. memory.

Here's a recent example of the Wizard's art.

The Kaiser 10 has three sound bores, so I'm not sure what model this is for, but the design caught my eye.

You've made me want to get a Kaiser now for the art... I don't like wanting to get something for the aesthetic. Curse you Kunlun....
