I bought my self a sony pha-1 and want to no what is the best setup audio in or still digital in and wherry can i find the cables

The Sony PHA-1 has two type of input, unless you have a good sound card or good external DAC, the USB connection should be the preferred input.
Analog, which is the "Audio In" 3.5mm (1/8") stereo input jack, on the front of the PHA-1
Digital, using one of the two USB input port on the back of the PHA-1.
I would assume both USB ports function the same.
So you need a USB male A to male A cable, or a USB male to micro 5-pin .
and set the back switch to whatever input your using.
iPods do not have an interface that works directly with USB.
You might try to find a good Apple expert, they might know something that I don't.
The simplest connection is an analog LOD (Line out Dock) cable, which would connect the Apple device's LOD port the the line-input on the PHA-1.
