For Sale:
WANTED: Broken headphones! (blown driver(s), missing parts, etc)

Will Ship To: Anywhere

This may sound like a weird thread, and it is. I'm looking to get a couple of things mainly but would be interested in pretty much any broken, damaged, or otherwise non-working headphone.

Headphones wanted: (Click to show)

1: Sennheiser HD800:

-- Preferably non-working condition, one or two blown drivers, in good cosmetic shape. Needed for the shell.

2: Sony MDR-R10 or CD3000:

-- In any condition of course, but a pair with one or two blown drivers in good cosmetic shape would be ideal.

3: Yamaha YH-1000:

-- With broken or corroded drivers, slight frame damage, etc etc.

4: Panasonic RP-HTF600:

-- At least one good driver, everything else doesn't matter.

5: Pioneer SE-700:

-- Again, at least one good driver, cosmetics and such don't matter.

... or anything else that's useless to you for whatever reason!

If you're just gonna throw something away, ask me about it first and I might just give you a bit of cash for it instead. Sounds like a good deal to me :D

Thanks!

Good luck with that. I have always wondered how people blow drivers. Do they abuse them to the max to test the limits or something? Seems unreal to me.

Numerous things can happen, such as accidentally pierced diaphragm during DIY ventures, overvolting, general product abuse, or even a special case like the MDR-R10, which has a membrane that deteriorates over time causing the driver to tear even during normal operation.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone ever encountered a driver failure with the HD800s?

I have a T-Peos 100 IEM, sound from only left side. Right side no sound. Lol interested?

Seems like the issue is located where the cord part connects to the right earpiece.

Got these for years as I was planning on doing some DIY, but I am not that kind of guy after all, now sitting in a box

- Stax SR-30 drivers OK, headband pieces broken off, one earpad missing

- Aristona Electret EK 400 = OK

- AKAI ASE-24 = OK

- Beyerdynamic DT440, nice chrome/ss retro design, OK, just missing isolation in earcups EDIT: and earpads

I have a set of Beyerdynamic Dtt770-pros that only work in one ear. Something was wrong with the cable, so I tried to recable them, then broke the extremely thin wire that leads to the driver.

I have some SRH 940 I'll be throwing away soon, they're made cheap so the plastic cracked, can't really wear them anymore.
