This theme is perfection!!! Thank you so very much McDown!

Do you update this theme with every new firmware update, or just major ones?

Truly amazing work!! I think FiiO should seriously consider to hire you ;) at least you seem to have way better UX skills than their own designers... I really appreciate it when people put functionality BEFORE aesthetics!

Irrespectively of the magnificence of your theme I dare to express what I think it misses to accomplish perfection:

  • A list based quick menu with text and symbols! No doubt you improved the original quick menu but this device still isn't made for circular menus! It just lacks intuition...
  • The state of the ON/OFF switches in the settings is everything else than unambiguous. The switches of the original firmware are better in this regard. A possible solution: Make the dot of the switch orange in ON state and white in OFF state (or alternatively orange too but empty/black in the middle). On the gain switch I'm missing the "L" (low) and "H" (high) indications...
  • There's a gap of 1 pixel between the right margin of the screen and the scroll bar (of course it might very well be there intentionally). I think I'd prefer no gap at all
  • The speaker symbol next to the volume level in the top bar could use some antialiasing... but I guess this statement only shows how spoiled I am regarding the look of your theme :D

Anyway, thank you very much for your work and improvement of my X3!

Thanks bhabba, glad you like it.
A list based quick menu is almost impossible to make cuz zero coordinate for the quick menu has pretty big margin from the top and left sides and we can't change it (why Fiio, why?).
The switches... I'm sorry but you have to come to peace with it. I want them be uniform and I like them.
The scroll bar gap is Fiio again. Nothing can be done.
The speaker icon is stock from Fiio. I probably redesign them when I have some time and inspiration..

That quick menu is such a downer. Wish they were configurable via some .ini

Yes, it is pretty limited to what you can do. I think this is the best I've come up with…

I made the image 150x200 so there is enough room to cram in the icons - although the icon bar is more like 170px. Haven't put it into any of my themes yet, based it off @AsianInvasion hydrogen theme, which I psuedo-ported. If anybody thinks its worthwhile, let me know and I'll update the themes.

Congratulations are in order. That square based layout is an exceedingly clever design choice, the only solution that looks at home on the home screen. Really brings the physical design of the unit together. The no cover and USB DAC screens are very tasteful and nice too. This is pretty much the ultimate theme for me, for the ultimate firmware (too bad we never got that un-clipped cover art, but oh well)

The only thing I´d like is a colour scheme with a more subtle (not primary) highlight colour. Champaigne would be nice. Or beige. Some brown, some faded yellow. Stuff like that.

But even as it stands this is the best x3 theme out there for me.

Thanks for the feedback!

I will certainly experiment with the color schemes you mentioned for the next release.
