I'll try it next week and let you know. PS, I will never give up my SE846s. For their form factor, and the sound quality they provide, I consider them unparalleled. But then again, I was never one to buy only based on SQ. Comfort is always another top concern for me.

Poor UE 900. They're now relegated to Yugo status? I guess that makes the Beats Tour a kick scooter?

I had the opportunity to audition both the SE846 and K10 in the last few days, so I'm rather fresh from my experiences.

The SE846 has some of the best bass presentations in any IEM I have ever heard. It is well textured, has good sub-bass extension, has sufficient quantity in the mid-bass region and sounds absolutely fantastic.

The bass on the K10s are just as detailed in the low frequency registers, but aren't bassier (quantity wise). On bass alone, I would give full marks to the SE846. However, imaging, sound staging, vocals and treble presentation are all executed better on the K10s. In short, I enjoyed every track on the K10s more than any other IEM I have ever heard, including the SE846.

The SE846 is certainly no slouch in my eyes. It's definitely one of the best pure universals on the market. I'm just more enamored of what the K10 can do.

In terms of bass quantity... 846. Overall quality? K10

Not to be a Debbie downer or anything, but, lets not assume its a given there will be a black Friday sale.

Really?

I know that Noble is having pretty good sales judging by all the photos of new ciems but I wonder how many people are actually holding off just for this Black Friday as last one Noble was still a new company and I think a lot of people weren't ready to shell out the cash but know things are different.

I am glad to be wrong then. :beerchug:

How much better does the K10 perform in terms of imaging, sound staging, vocals and treble over the Shure SE846? Is the difference as big as the Shure SE846 vs Sennheiser HD800? Or is it just a minor improvement?

When I talked to Brannan about this at RMAF, he did say that they planned to hold another Black Friday Sale this year. However, nothing is written in stone until it happens. Also I believe that their queue is quite long at this point and that the sale will likely push it back even further. In an email conversation with Brannan earlier this week he told me "The queue is immense...". Good news on the business front for Noble as the K10 is getting such incredible response and positive press, but with high demand also comes the risk of increased wait times. So happy now that I ordered my K10's on the second day of RMAF! Cheers

I personally would be surprised to see a Black Friday sale. Not that sales are bad by any means..... But it's simple supply and demand. If they are cranking out K10s (and other models of course) and maximum speed and can't quite catch up, imagine how bad that would get after a sale?

If I was Wizard I would maybe wait until a few months go by, then rethink the idea based on the current lead time. Nothing says you can't have a big sale in February or March....

Yeah, the business part of my mind completely agrees with you. Kind of like Hermes having a sale on their bags. However, the audiophile side of me wants as many people as possible to experience all the goodness of the Noble IEMs!

@Malevolent@warrior1975

Am surviving pretty well now. Perks of being extremely free and being pals with your local dealer @Kozato, he's willing to lend me his K10 demo unit on the condition that I can return it to him whenever he needs it. I just meed to live for another week plus(I think) befote my 1 year plan is finally completed. When I first met Calvin last year and tried the K10 demo, I just fell in love with it and I told myself, this IS definitely one CIEM that I must buy. Bought a DHC Fusion V1 6 core in preparation for the K10 but have been using it for other CIEMs....until Calvin lent me the K10 demo unit while he was overseas in late June. Had almost a solid month to play with it then I just said "damnit, just gonna diet for a while" and placed an order, but requested them to not finish nor send my unit until the mid of this month as I wanted to concentrate on my exams.

Seriously, rarely has any CIEM demo unit make me go "wow I want that!" Aside from the K10 as an all rounder unit, the 1964Ears V8 as a bass oriented unit and previously the 1964Ears V6 Stage which served as my all rounder unit. Frankly the Vision Ears VE6Xc demos locally didn't impress me as much as K10 demo and that was before I knew the price tag haha! But after playing with my own VE6Xc CIEM and the K10 demo, I feel that the K10 demo is almost in par with the VE6Xc on all aspects excluding bass, which won the VE6Xc. Between VE6Xc CIEM and demo unit, I experienced a clear cut improvement in the detailing and separation, making the CIEM my current reference. Since the K10 demo is already quite near the my VE6Xc CIEM, I wonder how big a change the K10 CIEM will make. 2 K10 users locally have told me before that they thought the demo unit was good as well, till they tried their own units. So @bangkokkid, what's the ETA? Dying over here:p

Can you imagine all the wailing and crying if there isn't a Black Friday sale? :veryevil:

Agreed on the part about wanting more people to experience the Kaiser goodness.

I confess to having not known anything at all about Hermes bags. I just read up and watched a fascinating documentary called "Hearts and Crafts" and feel much the wiser. The Hermes/Noble analogy is definitely apt.

For sure - but I can also imagine the ongoing complaints if a big sale pushes production times back to 10 or 12 weeks. Which is not all that unrealistic considering how busy Noble already is even without a sale. From their perspective, what's the motivation for a sale anyway? Also, imagine if they play catch up and then drop a "March Madness" sale or something like that..... they would be the only game in town, rather than fighting a bunch of other brands/stores for the customer's dollar.

Just thinking out loud here.

A Black Friday deal on universals would be great .
