They do clean up very well! These look even better in the sunlight.  It's very hard to capture all of the details in the faceplates without full proper lighting.

Good to know that mine are still unique!  Although, I do agree with you that the faceplates would look awesome on a Wizard IEM!

Really can't make a duplicate of those, we can duplicate the theme but not the result as the result is random.

In other words, the main color would be blue.... but that is all I could pretty much say about the result

Speaking of events, I never had a chance to thank you for coming and helping set up at the SoCal show, that was huge and it was great having you there in the morning. Can I borrow you for AXPONA? T.H.E. Show? rolleyes.gif
Shoot me an email with the particulars. The thing in Chicago may be tough but Newport Beach would work assuming I'm in town and not traveling. I think my Chicago trip changed cities so unless you can move Axpona to Houston...

But yes I will help you whenever, wherever I can.

To avoid a pointless double post, what's up Wizard!
Nice to see you here. Can't wait to hear what's coming out of your skunk works. I still owe you a beer or ten when we are ever in the same city.

I have the following headphones sitting on my desk:

  • Stax 009
  • HD800
  • Koss ESP-950
  • Stax 407
  • LCD-X

But for some reason I keep reaching for my K10's time after time... (OK, maybe once in a while I will grab the 009's :D) But no matter what genre of music I am listening to or what movie I am watching, I know the K10's will work well.

The latest out of skunk works is the switch products, as for what's up?

I think you may have just talked me out of upgrading my full sized cans :-D

Spend your money where you spend your time. I listen almost exclusively at the office so my money is sunk into ciems and a transportable rig instead of a set of open flahship full-size cans that would just be collecting dust at home.

Agree'd. I live in a very small apartment, so I just have some Yamaha studio monitors for home hooked up to my PC, as they don't need to be super loud to fill my space, and I'm usually sitting at my PC when listening to them.

I've have my RSA Intruder driving my HE-400's (which I'm finding are too dark for my tastes) also for home use, and I've ordered K10's and DX90 for portable use away from home.
I'll see how the K10's go. If I'm finding myself reaching for those more often than not when I'm at home, I'll hold off on upgrading to different full-size cans for home use.

A little off topic, but can anyone recommend a set of full size cans which have a similar sound sig to the K10's or JH13's? Judging by reviews, most of the ones I've been researching appear to be a little darker/warmer than the K10 or JH13 sound.

Perhaps through some sort of unholy dark ritual you can find a way to fuse the LCD2 v.2 and the HD800 but adding the bass punch and control from the Ultrasone Signature Pro into the mix, without interfering with the rest of the spectrum AND make them sound perfectly coherent, then you might come close.

I think DarinF might be your best bet for a qualified opinion on this.

Or I could wait for Noble to start doing full sized cans? :L3000:

Thanks for that though. I'll look up DarinF's posts. I'd love something like the HD800, but maybe a little more forgiving of source/amping. Also something that doesn't at all look like the HD800 would be great too. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and whatnot, but damn it's not a pretty headphone.

Well boys, I just made a appointment for Wednsday to get my impressions done. Called a few places, they have never even heard of ciem's, is a little disconcerting. I ended up at a hearing aid place, that has a lot of experience doing impressions .

Important please note:

Please print off a copy of Noble's Ear-Impression instructions before visiting a Audiologist, ensure that they can do what is on the fact-sheet, hth.
