The cool thing about "flipping the switch" on the FR or PR is that there is no interruption in sound. There is no click, pop, etc. OK, you can hear the mechanical sound of the switch flipping, but even that is not loud. It's really strange to just flip the switch and hear a different IEM! The switches are very easy to switch while you have the IEM's in your ears. I find that being able to switch so quickly really reveals the differences. Compared to what we have to do now: remove IEMs/headphones, unplug cable, plug in new cable, put in/on new IEM's or headphones; flipping the switch really shows the difference in sound signature. (Just don't forget to switch both switches the same way! Otherwise the sound is really weird with a different IEM in each ear...)

Very interesting and VERY cool feature.

When are we going to get a 3 or 4 way switch? :D I want to have the whole Noble line in my ears at once and be able to switch between them!

i take it you've heard the FR and PR already somehow Darin? You seem quite knowledgable

Any thoughts on em?

Could you imagine being able to go from an IEM that sounds amazing with say classical, flip a switch and then you have something that sounds amazing with rock? Or acoustic? Or Electronic music? Exciting times ahead.

Hi guys, my Noble 4 review is up:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/694003/d-marc0s-journal-my-head-fi-journey-new-noble-4-review/270

If only I waited a few more weeks I could've gotten the Wizard design N4.

All I can do now is drool... finest universal iem's and ciem's indeed!

This is a really cool innovation. Really unique. I'm seriously happy with the SQ of the K10, but perhaps one of these would be an interesting companion!

Well, like the other Noble products, being their photographer has its benefits. :D

I had them for a day to take photos. And in order to take proper photos, you have to listen to them, right?

Unfortunately I really only had a short time to listen to them and I mostly listened to the PR model.

I have to say, the switch function is very cool.

In the single BA driver mode, "R mode", the sound was extremely detailed. There was tons of information/resolution in all frequencies. There was not a lot of bass. Yes, the sound is Etymotic ER-4 like. However, to me they sounded different than my ER-4S's, but in the same family, i.e. incredible detail, neutral, but not much bass.

Then in the dual driver mode, "P mode", the sound changes a lot. The sound had more bass. Not a lot of bass and nowhere close to my K10's at all, but still more bass than the R mode. Then the highs seem boosted. Maybe boosted is not the right word, but more detailed maybe. Reminds me of the Tzar 350, which I also own.

Having owned the ER-4S's for over 15 years, they hold a special place in my heart. So I am always interested to hear anything with a similar sound signature. That's why I got the Tzar 350's in hopes that I could find an IEM with the neutral accuracy and detail of the ER-4S, but with more bass.

I have to reiterate that I didn't have much time to listen to them a lot. But as I said before, the switch makes each "mode" sound really different. It's not subtle at all.

I listened to the FR model even less, but I would say that they were less neutral and more v-shaped sound. I would have to listen again to really have any useful comments.

I am sure there will be many more impressions after the meet this Sat.

Will FR and PR (I am more interested in PR) iems can also be bought in ciem form?

The new announcement is very exciting and awesome... I am too angry at my wallet for not being on the thicker side :frown:

Then again when I finish the master and get a job, I know who to visit first ;)

Concept is really nice, so I agree with viva la revolution at this point.

I don't know what to get now. More decisions.

Very interesting models, and those designs are tempting indeed.

Are the switches independent of each other or do you only need to switch one side to toggle between modes? Having a Left side FR/PR and Right side R might make for a unique sound.

Think only the R mode can be added to CIEM (but 3,4 and 5). Although I wonder if R mode will sound different when put in the 4C.

So what does pure mean then? Not sure I fully understand the difference between the two models.

Since I got all these Noble CIEM demos, they've been driving me mad trying to photograph them properly redface.gif<--what a noob

Finally took what looks like a decent pic to me, so here goes nothing rolleyes.gif

Sometimes it's rather awkward getting a cable to cooperate for photos, especially the ear hoops. Looks pretty good to me Joe!
