Check your cable, when worn the dots on the cable should point upwards (or to the back). If they are put on the wrong way, you get leaner bass.

Try it! Best: try it only on one side and hear for yourself. Significant difference. That's how I found out it was wrongly connected on one side. The bass was shifted significantly to one side (which it didn't before), so I checked the cables, switched one around, so they both face up/back and all was wonderfully centered again.
Am not telling you some weird hogwash, everyone with K10's can try this.

You just had it out of phase. By switching one around you put it back into correct phase.

Exactly and it affected the bass the most.
 
The difference was (to my ears) - hmmm, pretty lean, to yummy yummy bass quality. I am just letting you know that in my experience the K10 reacted very strong to wrong phase, while other headphones might not. Just one thing to "check" if you are experiencing lean bass. Hence, I mentioned it.

I guess what you meant was if one cable is the wrong way round. That would make sense as the drivers would then be out of phase.

The two pins aren't "bass and treble nodes". One pin is the active signal, and the other is ground. Generally, the pin towards the back is signal, and the pin towards the front is ground. On the cable, the color / dot / letter usually is on the side of the active pin, which generally would mean that the dot should go backwards.

However, humans can't actually tell the difference in absolute phase in audio. Our brains just can't do it. So, as long as the pins are both forward or both backward, the music will sound correct. When you reverse only one side, you are driving the monitors out of phase with each other. Humans can definitely hear "relatively" out of phase drivers. But as long as you keep the monitors in phase with each other, you are golden!

The worst thing you can do is actually.. wait. Just forget about it, and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up on your doorstep. However, if you count the days, the wait will be a struggle.
