As you can see, the ASG-2 is slightly tubbier than the Noble 6. But, the G2 is more ergonomic and fits better in the ear. Pay close attention to the angling of the nozzles, where the N6's is perpendicular to the IEM body while the G2's follows the curvature of the ear.

Interesting. That nozzle thing is the exact opposite for me - I have a hard time with the ASG-1, which otherwise fits very well, due to the nozzle angle being too sharp. The prototype N6 I tried for a few weeks was a much better fit for me, and the final version seems to have the same shape.

I suspect no single universal will ever be ideal for everyone.

I think its all in the ear... Long live biology.

As someone who is doing a master in biology field, I like your comment ;)

Indeed. Though there were some changes in ergonomics with the generational redesign, so that may be a factor as well. Not that the N6 is uncomfortable. Not by a long shot...for me at least.

I found the prototype N6 shells to be a less than ideal fit for my ears. However, the production Noble universal shell fits my ear really well. They are MUCH more comfortable than the prototypes and since the nozzle is slightly longer, I can get a deeper, better seal.

I just posted in the K10 thread, but I just got my K10's today and I happen to have the K10 universal demos here too.

Wow! Early impressions are amazing. The fit is perfect. I always think the latest product I have from Noble can't get any better (N6), and then their next product comes along (K10), and it's better!

how do they compare to your HD800's... out of interest.

I just did a quick comparison between the K10's and HD800's on my Vali.

The K10 suits me much better. The K10's have more bass, yet still tight and fast. The HD800's are really bright and less bass, as you know. While the HD800's have more highs than the K10's, the highs on the HD800 are too brittle, harsh, sibilant compared to the K10's. The K10's seem to have just as much detail, but the highs are super smooth and there is no sibilance at all. Certainly not veiled at all. The highs on the K10's remind me of the Stax sound. Even with the Vali, the HD800's sound so harsh when I compare them to the K10's.

Imaging? Well, to me imaging is hard to compare since I am used to listening to speakers as I have said before. So I use my software if I want imaging. I guess I would say that the imaging sounds similar between the K10's and the HD800's, but I really don't hear mich imaging on either. The sound is in my head regardless.

Damn.  I've been seriously considering some TOTL universals, but now I'm considering a plunge into the abyss of customs.  I've resisted that jump thus far.  I won't clog up the thread with those reasons.  The K10...gotta say, I'm beyond intrigued.  Might have to fire off some questions to the team @ Noble & quell some of my concerns/lack of understanding.

You should be aware that once you go custom, there is no coming back.

I recently got my dirty hands on an Ibasso PB2. Good, but not spectacular from the single ended output with the K10.

Then I went balanced. Holy hell! I didn't think it was possible, but it took the K10 to an even higher level, especially when it comes to imaging! The soundscape is suddenly even more 3-dimensional and everything just stands out clearly. Small details now have their own destinct place so nothing is drowned out. Very highly recommended with the K10!!

Wow, the remnants of Heir Audio sure aren't being very subtle!

You can actually SEE the Wizard signature in the picture!!!

Stay classy, Heir Audio. Man they really do their best to capitalize on their former glory... So sad to see. :frown:
