Noble Audio - the Wizard returns! - Page 8

Recessed ports? Do you mean recessed sound bores. Yes, they are slightly recessed.  If you mean recessed sockets, NO.  Sorry, with that many drivers, and especially the size of the bass drivers, that could not be used.

My 8.A (blue ones, to the right) are a dark smoke shell with "mystic swirl" that have some glitter in them:

This beauty that Kunlun just posted in one of the other threads has more glitter in the shell:

If you PM FullCircle or Bangkokkid, they should be able to tell you more - and probably show you some better samples, this was just the most recent "glitter" one that I knew of

No recessed ports. I get a lot of questions about whether to get recessed or flush sockets, and honestly, I've not had problems with either type. Seems like people really worry about stressing the flush sockets, but that's just not a problem I've ever had. Maybe if you just jam your customs in your pocket after using them it might be something to worry about..... I dunno.

I like that you do slightly recessed sound bores. I bet it helps to keep them clear of ear bends etc.in some cases.

I would think that recessed sockets may actually stress the connections more. If you try other cables or a pin mold is even slightly off, the variation will put more pressure on the sockets instead of less so that even if the next cable feels secure, it may not be making as good contact.

Honestly,  there are a lot of facets to address on recessed sockets.  But really, they take up a huge amount of space. It would be nice if they were just recessed slightly, like .5mm, that would probably be fine. But the realitys is, they are recessed maybe around 4mm, setting the socket deep into the shell.  This really limits the required space for drivers.

I've had both and never had any issues with either. I'm not sure what the issues with recessed are but all of my customs don't have that many drivers but with these 8,10, etc. drivers I could see how they could cause space issues.

I am not interested in DX100 Soren thank you. The battery life is a killing issue for me. R10 would be nice since they somehow improved the battery life but that has to come from quite far away. Anyway I still have to save more money. Student life sucks :frown:

Btw, I took that special photo and said one of the best ciems ever saw but, that doesn't mean your golden ciems (!) are bad. They also look wonderful.

All I need is finishing this master and get a job I believe :happy_face1:

So for the glitter, it covers the whole ciem? Do you have a slightly better picture of it? Cant really see it clearly.. thanks.

It depends how you want it.  I do believe the order for has a comment section, where you can write detailed requests.  Beyond that, if you have a photo of a CIEM design you have seen in the past that you like, send it as well....

If that is part of a watch movement in a CIEM, that is SICK.

Yes, it does almost look like a "print" but it is not.

I'm really hesitating between the 8c and the k10.... Too bad no one has heard both of them frown.gif
The thing is, I'd use them mostly outdoors, and heard that in this case a more bassy ciem would be better. And i loooove bass.
On the other hand, i feel I might miss something if not buying the totl k10, but the more neutral signature might not suit me...
I'm lost and desperate frown.giffrown.giffrown.gif
