Can you please update the first post to include links to reviews and info in this thread. Updating the title too (removing the 'pro') would be good too. It will avoid repeating the same questions and answers especially useful as it looks like it won't be at least a month till more reviews come in.

Brand new, the K812 will sell for £1000. The HD800 brand new still sells for £1000. Priced the same guys.

Hehe just updated mine instead of waiting for HifiGuy528... Hope he don't mind as well as you guys don't mind! Let me know what else to add in... Hopefully it will ease those who is looking at this thread...

So far, I can only find " CantScareMe " impressions so I will just add it in. Let me know if there's anything extra to add.

@CantScareMe hope you don't mind smily_headphones1.gif

That's useful. No don't mind at all. I think there's a way to link posts so users can get there by clicking through. There's a few other impressions lingering somewhere within these pages. Not sure where though.

People still confused about the price / release date / physical aspects means that browsing through the pages is difficult (50+ so don't blame them), so I think the first page should be more useful. It's a problem I find with loads of other threads and when the thread starter posts up links and stuff, it's normally problem solved.

Everyone knows that impressions at this stage are not the real deal, but worth more than complete speculation.

Cool! Thanks for the suggestion! Will look for more impressions within this thread and update my post! Just added release date and "WARNING spoiler" to help avoid word of post haha

No, you didn't listen to the HD800 correctly. You need to mod them and have a good quality tube amplifier and a tube buffer and the vibration isolation feet and a pure OCC copper cable and a really neutral dac thats just a touch warm

Or you can just get a used m-Stage for $175.

Another one there.

Nice one guys - Makes it easier to navigate don't it. Like Imagine if the Fiio threads didn't have Clios or other people on the first page providing links/updated impressions! Messy huh?

EDIT: I still remember the head fi days when the HD-650 fans complain about the K702 treble. Today the same HD-650 fans got the HD-800 and they're still complaining about the K702 treble. :k701smile:

Yeah that's about £1000. So we are looking at the same price of the HD800's.

The funny fact is that european people were able to get them for 1200usd or even cheaper in the past... so yeah, these k812 should be a giant killer to convince me and other luckier people here to switch.

I spoke with my AKG rep, and he said something pretty disheartening. I asked if he ever heard the HD800 and how he would stack the AKG to the HD800's. He answered something like this: "Ah, je te laisse faire ton analyse car tu connais mieu le monde des ecouteurs que moi; c'est très bien, mais je ne pourrais pas te dire si c'est mieu que les HD800 par contre. C'est proche à mon avis."

I'm really surprised by his comment, I'd expect him, as a rep, to really push his product.

Anyhow, he's right, I do have more experience than him so I can't wait to try them myself!

Here's a translation of what he said: "I'll let you do the comparison since you have more experience with headphones; I find them fantastic, but I wouldn't say it's better than the HD800's however. It's really close in my opinion."

I'm really hoping these are better than I expect, pushing the headphone market even further forward :)
