Yes, this is how x70x headphones sound, roughly... Still, there is nothing wrong comparing graphs from the same source if you have heard both headphones you are comparing (as well as other ones) ,-)

A compare k 712 with a hd 800 which is much much more expensive is not fair!i am not a technical Guy but i know the Graphs of the akg k812 Looks better than sennheiser's!you will see that in 2 weeks!and you can make a new compare hd 800 vs K812 about the Graphs Here in These THREAD,

I hope you realise that K702 are the brighter headphones that artificially emphasise upper mids and treble as well as roll off the bass to get a "better" impression of clarity and detail... 1-4 khz and 6-9khz prove it (I dont need to specify the bass roll off, I hope) ,-) From 10khz, it's just guessing even from graphs so no real point in comparing the two headphones here.

Btw, Acix, why do you think AKG tuned K712 Pro to be more bassy and go lower? They are still called "reference studio headphones"...

They did it for people like you! Which always want more cowbell.   :k701smile:

LOL... Man, if you really think K702 are truly neutral and reference headphones for studio monitoring, I for sure hope you're not going to cooperate with artists or groups I enjoy listening to. I would have to get some Grados to compensate for an artificial darkness of the recordings produced with K702.

No need for Grados, you'll ready have the HD-800 with enough treble energy. Just be careful with the volume, the HD-800 treble can easy pop your cherry at high level.

I would for sure need some Grados or K702 to get there...

also... uhh grow up :D here are two dudes I respect having a childish debate <3 take this into pm if u don't mind OR post more funny and off the wall rebuddles! Your much to serious for any one to enjoy your arguments!

EITHER way, I will end on this note... sit back. Enjoy some COFFFE and enjoy your headphones.

Warning: Audio HIPPY Splurge! (Click to show)

Your opinion is really all that matters, as your ears will be doing the listening. IF he hates the HD 800 oh well, he's enjoying the K701, and if the other guys hates the K701, oh well he's got an HD 800. At the end of the day you both enjoy them. And do remember everything is subjective, Graphs are pretty useless imo as your ears, hair, listening enviorment, diet, and set up will slightly alter how you hear each headphone. Honestly I only use Paper Data to find headphones that SHOULD in THEORY sound like the my dt 880 [which I like] that said how ever, at teh end of the day you got to listen, listen njoy and then SHARE the love.

BUt if you feel the need to SHUN some one for what they enjoy... then maybe your not enjoying your headphones as much any moar... I used to be the guy who would NEVER OWN A HE 400, because alot of ppl felt it was a DT 880 upgrade [it's different a definete side grade [and NO we r not talking about the HE 4 in which I need to listen to]] THAT said... after a few years, I got over my BEYER LOVE hifiman HATE [thank you hm 601] and got the HE 400... which I do enjoy!

SO that said, IF you feel the need to DEFNED your headphone SO... well aggressivly... then maybe you need to take an honest look at your sastifaction with it... your defense of it may be more directed at your self than the other guy. If you feel there something lacking with your can there is nothing wrong with that!  No need to BASH some one else headphones, just accept your own dis satisfaction and realize all the POSITIVES your screaming at him... are hiding your inner feelings inside! OPEN UP BE HONEST AND EMBRACE your DESIRE for CHANGE! I did and I was SO happy after... that said the HE 400 is still my EDM only can and might get sold as I rarely listen to EDM as much these days ;o

IT SOUNDS HEAVENLY

yea I know. I own bright headphones and just to make sure I was COMMITED TO THE BRIGHT, before I sold my DT 990 I listened to it with a +4 boost to all the treble... the only thing I noticed was the crappy mids so that said I can dig more treble than even the 990 had to offer, but need them mids and bass to be boosted as well

so that said I CAN DIG IT plus a copper recable might tame them just a smidge [assuming I get Zombie to Recable them] Speaking of recable... I actually want a Hybrid Silver Copper recable for my w1000x... need to find some one to do that. I noticed the hybrid cable I have for my HE 400... smoothed out the treble yet retained a lot of it's energy! The headphone got  brighter in the best possible way [not to mention the bass got more visceral] so that said, I'd love some  hybrid recables] Maybe  Moon Audio but eww they are expensive

I have a few things I want before I even look at teh T90... need to recable my w1000x, get a RSA SR71B for it and them grab a LD MK VI+ [MAYBE...] I might skip the tube and just stick with my portable rig for any my ANALOG sounding Gear, with my Home Set up as a pure Refrance [the 10ES2 is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN]

THAT SAID back to CODEING

I got 4 more hours of that to do, assuming I'm following convention right, and I apprecaite ANY help you guys have but to keep it to your selvs... my school has this backward method of teaching us which means I'll have to wait till next year before I can think out side the box. For now I am instructed to get used to the box BEFORE I try to break out of it!

So far as using them for basis on how one compares to another... ^^Yes that is true. I just don't like the idea of saying that one graph is more accurate than the other like what acix was saying.... Until there is a real standard of measurement that totally translates to the exact thing we hear. The goldenears graph has the right idea for the k702 though. Even though I didn't see that I would draw the graph myself to be like that by ear.
