This thread is awful.  =\

Damn, that 812 looks really open, I hope it ends up being awesome.  And they moved the hinges and pivots and all to outside of the cups instead, very nice.

It will be easier to mod that way, hahaha.

I can't wait to try it!

$1499?

I'm excited to hear from my friend, I'll be able to make a fair judgement based on his opinions as I know he critiques pretty well. It's not me, but oh well :o

Any updates on that?

Great to know that at least I am getting fairer price from one of the accessories if I ever buy K812.

And with this price, this thread really has to go to Summit-Fi.

There hasn't been any concrete information yet. Things are still all over the place.

£1000  $1500  €1200

I can't see the confusion guys. Multiple times across this thread the price has been confirmed.

I'm much more interested in what the USD street price will be.

As a reference, the K712s MSRP is $699, yet it regularly sells for <$399.  That's either -$300 or 57% of the MSRP, depending on which way you look at it.

K712s MSRP is $1499, so $300 off would be $1199.  57% would be <$900.

If that is the case, then I guess the K812 would be the first 'hi-fi' cans I would actually buy :k701smile:

If AKG enforces MAP like Sennheiser then it's a different story.

Aside from the $1499 listing price on (I think it was) Headroom, the other prices are not even confirmed by reference, just "rumored".

I want the official pricing on these and official world on worldwide release status.

Again, as said/discussed before the price is most likely to be fixed. This is what they did with the K3003 so will do this now with the k812. But you never know though...it might tumble. The K550 I bought new or £250 (something like that) but now it sells new on amazon for £130.

Really can't see something like that happening with the k812 though.

Yes, that would suck.

Traditionally they haven't been enforcing prices though, so lets hope that trend continues.

RazordogAudio (same place that you can get the K712 for $375) is expecting to be able to do discounts on the K812 as well.
