Have you had the chance to check out the Phonitor?

I need to ask nicely someone who owns one and maybe I can get it on loan. I tried SPL before, but not in present set up, here you can read some

Maybe you can contact SPL and ask if they have a distributor in your area, or even Amsterdam area will be cool. My guess is that in a few minutes you'll get the idea, the Auditor will do as well.

Well, good luck whatever he is doing here. but maybe on the way he can start benefit the headfi community, like to take care and to be in charge for a sweet K812 EU, and US loan programs. I mean if he already have the connection with AKG, he can fulfill his time here on the best side as possible.

After my experience owning the Q701 i am once again interested in an AKG headphone.

I cant wait.

The force is strong with this one! I am more excited about these than even the Audeze LCDX which I am also lusting after.

Disclaimer: I tend to find AKG's just meh and the k701 to me was actually bad.

By the way, just a quick note to AKG. If these came out at a street price around $900, I am buying them blind hehehe

^This. If Harmon and its subsidiary AKG were able to take their audio research and somehow meld it with all the past successes of others, good for them. Why reinvent the wheel and, in turn, the axle, the motor, the drive train and the ABS brakes, when everyone else already gave enough blood, sweat and tears for it? I hate when companies are dead set on being different just for the case of being different and then fail miserably or perform with mediocrity. However, I got to tip my hat to AKG if this turns out to be the perfect headphone because of inventive innovation. (As for wishful thinking: Eventually, everyone else in the executive chairs will take notice of this sly move, vicious competition will set in and our wallets will not be hurt so badly.)

So, a super efficient flagship that is neutral, has a wide and deep soundstage and proper bass weight. Finally an upgrade from the HD600?

What I would like to see is a comparison to the K1000. They insist, in their official literature and by the engineers at the demo  too, that the K812 sounds better.

Price wise I guess it's £1k but a bit less. The wooden omega stand sells around the net for £95 so around £900ish is what it really costs.

The K812 doesn't sound too promising given how badly the previous models were. Heres hoping these actually turn out good.

Don't think! Just get on!
