Probably, the AKG cup is an open grill. With T1 it is semi-open as there is plastic covering part of the grill.
Yea the T1 has a lot of plastic behind the driver (which is why it has such bad ringing). It looks like the K812 is pretty open behind he driver.
I'm not sure about the K812 with the Phonitor, but I know about how my K702 sounds out of the Phonitor! If you're able to take care of a UE loan program for the K812, I'm sure a lot of UE headfi members will be happy to participate in this AKG loan program.
Imagine the K812 above the Phonitor...I can't wait to check out this combo!
Has AKG given the official word that these are going to be called the K812 Pro?
So it's just the K812, interesting. Maybe they are going to release the K801/802 later on.
Yes, they have. http://www.akg.com/k812-1308.html
This headphone is actually called "AKG K812" or "AKG K812 Pro" ??
Yea, it's the K812 not 'K812 Pro.'
Doubt that they'll conduct a worldwide loaner program. I can't remember this happening for any other expensive flagship.
I wasn't able to (informally) test out leakage or isolation, as I kind of forgot. It's open but from the top of my head it may not be as open, sound in sound out wise, as the HD800. Not sure.
But about the amp - I can't find a single headfi review on the lehmann studio cube. Didn't know it existed before I listened to it. Anyone??
