Looking for good headphones under $100 to listen to mostly EDM

Thread Starter

Hi, this is the first time that I've ever *really* looked into getting any actual good quality headphones (used to just buy crappy $15-20 earbuds from Target, Best Buy, etc.).

I am looking for good quality headphones under $100 (preferably $60-70) that will mostly be used for EDM (dubstep and electro, specifically).

The headphones must meet these criteria:

*Cable length short enough to be used when mobile, so no 10ft long cords

*Prefer open-backed, but will use close-backed if need be

*Doesn't need a supplemental amp for good sound quality

*balanced, with slightly more bass than highs and mids

*Durable (can't tell you how many headphones broke in the last two months (and yes, I know they were store-bought crap, but still, I want these to last over a year))

*Comfortable (obviously)

Thanks for any and all help you can provide, I'm very new to this whole thing and could use all the information I can get.

The HisoundAudio E212 has very good bass (I love their short cable). They just released their new IEM's - the BA100 for US$99. If you can review them, they are giving a 50% discount. This is the thread:

Or for a full review and comparission for 299 IEM's you can try this thread:
