Hello and thanks for showing interest for my problems.

General information:

1. The price for the headphones should be around $ 100.
2. My phone is Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, so it uses the OMTP standard, not CTIA like iPhone, Samsung, etc.
3. It was hard for me to find compatible earphones; I only found a $ 4 ZTE one.
4. I bought an OMTP to CTIA adapter, but it's not working for my phone and works without a problem for my Laptop and PC Speakers. It seems not to work for my phone because the place where it has to connect seems too tall.
5. I listen to ambient and metal, and mostly to black metal.

Jabra Halo 2

I decided that it was perfect for me. Affordable, HQ sound, Noise Canceling, a design that I simply love and most important, Bluetooth headphones, so the OMTP standard would not have caused problems. Then I find out that in two years the set dies since the battery is not replaceable.

Then a question cones in my mind. Since the set can also work like a non-bluetooth set, after the battery dies, can't I use it like a normal set that is connected to my phone? Or a working battery is still needed for such a thing? If the answers is no, then let's move to my second choice.

Sennheiser HD 439

As we see this is a non-bluetooth set, so the headphones can live their full life without being limited by a battery. I don't like it as much as Jabra, but this is not a very big problem.

The problem is that my phone uses OMTP. I tried a handful of CTIA earphones and none of them worked. I only obtain a "Accessory not supported" message. Adapters also do not work well for my phone. I doubt that this headphone set is made for both standards since it was very hard to find some OMTP-compatible earphones.

I am mainly interested in those two sets, but I also highly appreciate other suggestions. Maybe a non-bluetooth set that has Jabra's design?

Thanks.
