That sounds like bad news for the more thrifty among us. :D

I actually find the EarPods are underrated xD while they do not sit in my ear nicely, they do sound great specially for the price smily_headphones1.gif

Overrated: Anything by Monster or Bose

Underrated: Koss PortaPros - for $35, what an absolute bargain!  The bass output is unbelievable for such small, tiny looking cans.

The Q701 is great except for a couple issues, it has a bit of upper midrange glare and it has some center image issues which does show up every once in a while. I liked the HD 600, it really needs a good system behind it to sounds it's best.

Agreed

What about the 32 ohm models.. Don't take anything for granted. Not never! And that is an order! :D

Beyers are known to play well with tubes but not always the case. I run mine out of a M-Stage and they sound great.
Also I did a some little thought on DT770 80 ohm, a week or so ago. I bought a set maybe 5 or 6 years ago and I just bought another set a few weeks back. I'll say they sound NOTHING alike. I even asked if Beyer did a secret retune or something? Because the old set has the common reviews most people post. Deep bass, Major sucked out mids and really bright treble. The new set sounds nothing like that at all. The bass is still deep, but the mids aren't sucked out at all. Really quite neutral and the treble rolls of like a Sennheiser. It truly is night and day. I'm thinking production run or something has to come into play??
They remind me of the 880's, I haven't changed my set up either.
Same as always

Soon when the new monster headphones that they are making with a Swiss watch maker comes out, we will have a lot of wannabe gangsters touting them as the greatest headphone of all time because of their price and impressive appearance.

Considering it is a $2275 dollar noise cancelling headphone being tuned by the man who did Beats, we'll I'll be skeptical about the supposed "quality".

I have a DT 880 (32 ohm), sounds amazing direct from Fiio X3 (high gain setting).

Sounds like they're overrated already! They're gonna have to up the noise cancelling technology though, especially for that price. Most NC only subdues lower frequencies like engine noise etc. However, if it manages to subdue the Beats-like blooming bass it might just work... ;)

Beats are the best.

Indeed they are! ... Very good at multiplying their product price... To something unreasonable with their old product not going to comment on their new line

I like the hype Golden Ears give the Senn HD 540; subjectively rate them over the HD 600 in transparency, dynamics, and resolution.
