Budget Neutral Headphones

Hello Headfi, I'm looking for my first pair of over the ear headphones, and I'v determined I want them to be closed, for isolation. That real part is deciding. Now, I'v widdled my choices to only 4 diffrent choices, and I'm aiming for neutral and comfortable. I have picked out the SONY MDR-ZX700, Creative Aurvana Live! Headphones, Shure SRH440, and, Brainwavz M5. Now, I was trying to buy the generic pair of Brainwavz M5s from Jaycar, but they messed it up,(Australian price) and I got a refund. After that I decided to think more about which headphones I really want. Unfourtantly, since the only headphones I have had are Koss Portapros and brainwavz R1s, the first was enjoyable, but broke and the second barley had any midrange at all and made things like siguar ros unlistenable. If you guys have any recommendations on which ones are the best out of the bunch I would be very greatful. Also here's my last.fm, http://www.last.fm/user/trickyhero/library I also listen to chiptune, but that's usually streamed. Thanks Head-Fi!

So, I'm really just stuck between both the Brainwavz HM5 and the Shure SRH440. Is it worth going for the Shures or should I go for the brainwavz?

Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000), here in the USA they sell for $50, on eBay.

Heya,

I would get the HM5 if you can. Fairly neutral, on the warm side. Great isolation. Big, thick pads and deep cups. Good sound stage. Great build quality and detachable cable. I think you can get some Jaycar and NVX clones too, perhaps for even less, if you're in Aussy.

Very best,
