Heya,

Nope. I have both. I would put the ESW9A slightly ahead of the DT770 PRO in terms of pure sound quality. For build quality, isolation, pads, cabling, etc, the DT770 wins. I love the ESW9A, but it's little tiny cables and weak plastic headband and joint structure is it's biggest flaw set. Otherwise, it's a very buttery rich sounding headphone with very plush leather pads. Sounds wonderful. The DT770 is not an upgrade, but simply a different experience, not quite a downgrade either. It comes down to what qualities you're looking to improve upon.

Very best,

The dt770 doesnt have any upgrades until you hit $300-350.
