New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne" - Page 57

Resistance is futile...just ordered...

Seems like everybody goes for the CF option. Am I the only one who prefers the good ole acrylic shells?

Well given I have never seen anyone with the CEIM,S we are ordering it's not like wearing the same shirts to a party .

I live in ny 5 boroughs , and take the trains into NYC. About 4 times a week . I also take trains within NYC all day when there. And in this I have never seen one ciem. Plenty of headphones and the assorted ear buds but not ONE. Ciem.

I do get plenty of looks though as what the hell are those. The only I did see is one guy wearing a silicon ear plug , custom no less. Clear . Where the hell are all these CIEM,S going man. I where mine how about you guys ...???

Impression to be sent next week. I'll get them when I get them. Just bought P7's with the money saved! Such a bad shopper. Must have female chromosomes in me somewhere!

Just for info these CF shells are certainly also acrylic...it must be a carbon fiber structure molded into an acrylic shell...you would not have CF directly in contact with you ear. But I chose CF because I like the look.

So what color and art did you choose? I usually like classics....black opaque or clear shell.

If Roxanne will be the flagship for the coming years, my boat will have Batman looks!

Carbon with titanium logo all the way was my only option:)

Yes, but all you folks who went for carbon spent $160-$200 more for an option that means you can't see the drivers, so how will you know if you really have 12 drivers in there?

Yeah, I know, of course JH would never pull a stunt like that, but still... you'll never know for sure that you have 12 drivers in there, will you...?

If I eventually buy a pair of these, I'll go for clear acrylic

I like the monochrome theme as well. Just got the Roxanne with transparent shell and a transluscent black faceplate. This should give the shell a varying shade depending on intensity of light reflecting through the faceplate.

Also a few years down the road you will certainly require a re-shell to re-adjust the fit which in my opinion CF option does not make sense.

How common is it to need to reshell CIEMs after a few years?

I went with red and green, clear, I want to see the drivers, CF is 'meh', in my view, just not my thing I guess.

Depends on the individual. Some needs a reshell after 2 yrs. Others > 4 years. CF certainly is a tough material ans suppose to last. But then what is the point if you will have to break it and re-shell your CIEM in the future. It you just want the look JH can do so with the acrylic shell.

Indeed it does cost extra just for the looks... But reshell after aprox. 4 years means I have paid 40 dollar/€ per year for Carbon looks, which I personally like:)! Come on... We are buying CIEM's for way over €1000,- ... If Carbon is your thingy... Then just go for it.. smily_headphones1.gif
