That's what I thought... too bad I went for a casual round of demo of Audeze cans which were fatefully paired with an Hugo and I couldn't resist.... the Hugo.

But Rox don't really need it. AK240 pairs really well with Rox, more so than any of my other DAPs. Hopefully the custom wait time will stabilize and I'm probably getting one.

imho, there is too little improvement for me on the Rox when amplifying it coz of how efficient already it is. I only get to hear the flavor of the amp. whilst I would say that headphones do really benefit from Hugo. especially hd800. but back to topic, the 240 is more than enough already for me. i'd pick it over calyx m and zx1

and no regrets on Rox after a lot of time auditioning k10 and mentor.

i await for my rhines audio stage 5 and see how Rox and the latter would be

Makes a great desktop though and also can be taken on trips and used with some nice cans. I use the ak240 with the roxannes at the gym but in the use I use it as a system. Love it either way

you need to hear the hd800 with the Hugo and ak240-l. Roxannes are very efficient and can be driven by the ak240 easily an is excellent.  The AK240 balanced does a very nice jby with all headphones. I use the WyWires adapter for all my balanced cables to use the ak240 with all headphone balanced as a stand-alone it works well.

i have heard hd800 already on hugo. i was really impressed with the HD800 on how it scales up and it showed how good the Hugo was.

I am most interested on the rwak240. I know it's not really much of an improvement having listened to  120 and rwak120 but maybe this time on the rwak240 hmmm..

Just got my RWAK240 last night & the Rox belongs to Currawong. Hope to have some listening time between meetings.

Sadly no. My missus didn't let me bid for the AKR03 on Yahoo Auction. They're sold out in Japan.

Man I can't believe our wives always insist on keeping money to feed the kids...they should get their priorities straight.

Is your Roxanne UF or Custom? What tip are you using there?

UF belonging to Currawong (I"m borrowing them for awhile). I'm using Spinfit tips on them.

Interested to know if there is more to RWA mod than to 'enhance the bass\ and what devices / amps they are comparing AK240 with.

Comparing Hugo and AK240 thought the soundstage and separation of AK240 headphone amp section was step behind Hugo. Did not find a real distinction in bass output. AK240 as a transport-only seemed eminently fine

(my imo)
