Looking good, fingers crossed that things work out for you first time.  Are those CF or normal ones?

I'm looking at top offerings from UE and JH Audio. Which brand has a sound profile closest to high end vinyl set-ups in your opinion? Thanks

I've got my hands on a pair of roxanne universal and also SE846. I feel the roxanne lack details compare to the 846, especially on vocals. Sounding a bit thin. Also, the 846 feels more airier. I would thought roxanne would outweigh the 846 completely. In terms of clarity, i think k3003i that i had was probably at the top.

I read from another post that a headfier had problems with his new roxanne and at the end of the day, he had a faulty driver on the left channel. Is there any way I can test my roxanne...or maybe my roxanne is suppose to sound the way it is. I was expecting a wow from it :/

Depends who's doing the rating ;)

If you've never heard a high-end CIEM before, then it's great. If you have, then it's still quite good in my opinion, but a little disappointing to me in terms of being slightly veiled, having a slightly unnatural mid-bass to sub-bass balance, having a dip in the upper midrange, having continual quality control problems, poor customer service and a massive wait time far beyond competitors.

Of course, for those who have the Roxanne, please enjoy!

I had a 3-day audition with the Roxanne and ending up picking the JH16fp for myself, so each person has their preferences.

That's even with the bass tuning?

I kind of went from the other end that the Roxannes didn't thrill me when I first heard them last year in two separate events (Fujiya Autumn & e-earphone Winter '13). And I even took a demo pair home for a week. Funnily though just over a week back I gave the AKR03 a shot and enjoyed it more than I did in the past that's left me to be a little more interested in the Roxannes. Maybe it was the balanced from the AK240 into the AKR03 or maybe my music tastes have changed.

I still think the AKR03 is too big for my ears though and if I was more convinced, I would have considered customs Rox with the AKR03 balanced cable.

Hi there! Most definitely. I did a lot of playing around and serious listening and the balance stays the same no matter the dial, at least to my ears. Same with the Roxanne's tonality issues in the upper midrange and treble--to me, they are a result of a dip in the upper midrange, so changing the bass doesn't effect it.

Of course, as I listened for a long time, I found things like the veil become less noticeable as my ears adjusted, but other things starting bothering me more. Of course, I was doing intensive listening for those days to really hear what the earphones were like...

Exactly same to my experience, EQ to bring up the treble a little made them better.

Back in Dec when I could take the demos home for a week (before shipping them off to Currawong), it took me 3 days to "appreciate it" through total immersion. But promptly when I switched back to my FitEar MH335DW I immediately preferred my FitEars.

This round though with the AKR03, I had about 20 mins of listening time at the e-earphone store. Enough to intrigue me to want to listen to more but not enough to buy it (well the AKR03s were out of stock anyway). I may ask Currawong if I can borrow the demo Roxannes from him again with the SpinFit tips.

I have a pair of Kaiser 10's coming along too and would be interesting to compare the two side-by-side along with my MH335DW-SR.
