Sorry for lack of explanation, it had nothing to do with any negative response to your comments!  I started writing one of those growing number of posts saying "JH hasn't done this" and "they should have done that", and I guess I realized that I was beating a dead horse and purely speculating about the kind of issues JH is dealing with.  There are enough disappointed buyers at this point that I guess I just didn't want to add more fuel to the fire.  JH's business process is kind of a mystery right now, and will probably remain so. So I am just hopeful they catch up and leave customers ultimately happy with a very good product.  Again, sorry, I should have removed your quote from the post.

For the additional work and health hazards that they go thru dremelling those CF earpieces, I would think perhaps the $500 is justified.
From my understanding, real CF can only be identified through the layers underneath.
So unless JH can show a cross section of the shell, i doubt a majority of users will be able to tell genuine CF just by looking at the outside.
Luckily, due to the delay fiasco, i ultimately decided not to buy into the 12-driver hype after auditioning it.

I am frustrated myself waiting for one, but I won't assume it's easy.
Then don't offer the CF option if it's so hard to do which in turn translates to near Methuselah like turn around times.

JH is not the largest CIEM/IEM company at all. UE is larger, for example. In the pro market, there are several very popular companies.

The idea that because a company has a presence on head-fi then it must be the largest company, is not factual.

Further, other companies roll out new products without repeated quality control failures and without 6 month delays. It does not follow that higher volumes of orders must mean huge delays and QC failures.

In my opinion, these issues should not be excused, but rather we as customers should demand excellent service and excellent, high-quality products from all companies. I think holding companies to a high standard will lead to better products on the market and is in our best interest.

I understand that other people may feel differently.
Word.

I am not trying to defend JH on their turnaround time as I believe they could be more forthcoming during order taking however offering CF is giving customers choices can only be good.

What would be ideal if JH were to tell consumers it would take a year and then deliver within six months. I for one am happy I could choose CF Or acrylic. (I chose CF)

Perhaps they should consider putting a pause on offering CF as an option until they've caught up. Those who desperately want CF, well, looks like they'd be waiting a huge length of time anyway, so waiting on it being offered again would probably make very little difference. I've seen manufacturers of other things struggle before, particularly with special options like we have here, and I've seen them temporarily hold on offering those options until they can manage them again. I think, psychologically, people will be happier waiting when they've not spent their money and sent in impressions and the like and those who are more impatient might be satisfied just foregoing the CF option if they aren't being offered it immediately.

I don't really know why I'm commenting here because $500 for IEMs blows my mind, never mind $500 for a cosmetic option. Not passing judgment, merely being transparent. Just bringing some thoughts to the table, I guess.

Surprisingly, just collected my Custom Roxanne and it sounds magical and miles better than the universal demo set.

Thanks to Jerry Harvey, Claire and Wilson for the opportunity to own Such a wonderful product.

It was an agonising wait since last year but seeing how well made the ciem and the case are. I am in head-fi heaven.

Based on preliminary and casual inspection, things seem wonderful and did I tell you how good it sounds??? :-)

Just to say that at this very moment, all the past frustrations seem so silly.

Shot a few photos using my Android phone. Will try using proper camera in the next few days.

Your custom Roxane sounded great right out of the box? My Roxanne AKR03 took a whole week's burning in to sound decent. :-S
