New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne" - Page 380

Afaik. Carbon finer is a woven cloth until it is coated with rein and becomes extremely rigid and strong. I would think it is far from easy to produce a small complex shape. It is pointless getting exasperated with JH. Further back in this thread there was some good sense posted from people who have experience of buying from small high end bespoke makers. It is not the same as ordering from a run of the mill mass market company. Neither is the product run of the mill. From now on anyone ordering from JH should be aware of the problems and accept the situation or not get involved in the first place.

Maybe its time for 3d printing of carbon fibre like the koenigsegg one lol

I do agree CF, isn't the easiest materiel in the world to work with. It does take a level of understanding and craftsmanship to produce. I just feel so bad for all you guys that are waiting. I'm like 3 weeks in waiting on a pair of ciem's to be built, and the wait is driving me crazy. Anyway I hope you guys truly enjoy them when you get them.

That wait would drive me nuts, especially early on when people had no idea. If you order now, not as bad as you know what you are in for.

Oh and I thought it "was not rocket science"...right?

And it's not, rocket science, and it's also not just slapping the design on either. I understand it takes a certain level of skill. But 6 months? Enough on this subject.

It's definitely not rocket science, however it doesn't mean that it's not difficult material to work with. ☺

I really wonder if Noble (or any other company) would have been able to cope with the number of orders JH received during the black Friday sale... I dunno......

So many artists choosing JH products, that might have something to do with the delays.

Hello there. I always enjoy reading your posts, wickson. I wanted to respond to this one:

JH is not the largest CIEM/IEM company at all. UE is larger, for example. In the pro market, there are several very popular companies.

The idea that because a company has a presence on head-fi then it must be the largest company, is not factual.

Further, other companies roll out new products without repeated quality control failures and without 6 month delays. It does not follow that higher volumes of orders must mean huge delays and QC failures.

In my opinion, these issues should not be excused, but rather we as customers should demand excellent service and excellent, high-quality products from all companies. I think holding companies to a high standard will lead to better products on the market and is in our best interest.

I understand that other people may feel differently.

Thanks Kunlun, I've always respected and appreciate your opinion.

I wasn't inferring that JH is the largest, simply saying that their influx of orders on black Friday may have been higher than many other ciem manufacturers. I question if the other small business ciem makers would have struggled...?

Me saying that many artists are choosing JH has nothing to do with the head-fi hype machine... Just what I see with my own eyes, many top artists in different genres have chosen JH.

I do agree that we should definitely hold them to a higher standard, I've sent my iem back 3 times for various issues.

BTW, where have you been? (Kunlun)

I dunno, I feel working with CF is more an art than a science.  If they keep hiring newbies then assume it'll take months for those to become proficient.  I had to put on my own screen protectors to my tablet recently.  You clean the screen, blow off any dust/hairs, line up the protector and peel back some of the backing.  Gently start laying it down on the screen.  Once done you notice it's not aligned, lift it up, reposition, lay it down again.  Looking at it under the light you notice bubbles, dust trapped under there.  Lift it up, use sticky tape to remove dust.

Just such a simple exercise took me 25 mins and it was nowhere near perfect.  I had dust, fingerprints and bubbles.  Imagine the learning curve for CF.  You touch them before they are cured you get fingerprints etc. I can imagine them going really slowly to pick up this new 'art'.  Just my 2 cents whenever things are hand made or labor intensive.
