New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne" - Page 370

I keep hearing about the treble on the Roxannes, and I swear I read that it was purposely tuned that way, because it's more accurate or something, maybe I'm crazy.

Still, I enjoyed the Roxanne demo I tried, but I felt like I didn't have the best fit, and the cost increase in comparison to the 16s was too much for me.

Excited to see that there's some more and more getting released though, and eager to hear more reviews, maybe someone might make me regret my purchase

So I finally found the time to photograph my Roxannes... as I said before, I changed from CF to clear acrylic + CF, which got me a faster delivery and the visual benefits of an awesome looking shell and being able to see the drivers in all their glory. Here we are!

Really very nice. Best of both worlds.:)

That's why I went ahead and ordered my Roxanne set, despite the negative reviews on delivery schedules. If you moaned at Rodan because he was taking a long time to finish a sculpture, you'd be off your head!

That said, if they were reading these, then surely they would make their case here rather than the current 'silent running' mode.

Rodin. I think your analogy is a little odd. No offence meant. We are talking about a commercial product that has been bought to the marketplace.

I went through eight different amps before I found synergy with the Roxie. It was much different than the synergies I had found with the JH13's (I own a pair).

I apologise on behalf of my auto-correct.

I understand that they're a commercial product but it CIEMs are unlike most other commercial products by definition.

How's this for an analogy:

You can buy a car sitting in a showroom and drive it away that day. However, you can also buy a car and add your specific colour, interior options, trim etc. but with that you would have to wait for your exact specs. Even then that stuff is stock, off the shelf at the factory. It's to be expected that if they had to mould the seat to your butt, that it would take considerably longer to deliver to you.

Is it possible to see a few more pictures as I am planning on getting mine in this option too. If it's not too much trouble.

How can the same earphone sound different? I am talking about the AKR03 and the Roxanne universals.
I was told the AKR03 version were tuned differently to the regular universal ones, and come with an extra set of balanced cables for the AK240. However, I've not heard the other versions as the shop only had the AKR03 on demo.

Yes that's what I am reading now too from other forum posts. But cannot find anything official about them being tuned differently. Wonder if Jerry would actually take the time to do that.

Would you mind sharing your experience? Which DAC are you using?

The wire and wire feedback (read: oscillation) is the problem. Why? When I use the Corda Concerto from Meier....the fat, phasic signal quality is gone. I am left with balanced signal and full bandwidth. No smearing high frequency mess, no sloppy bass etc.

The internal ground signal and power supply rejection technology from Meier? His active ground pollution solution? Cured the problem of the mush I heard when I hooked to every amp I own for small signals.

Moral of the story? JERRY..... YOUR WIRE AND POTS ARE NOT WORKING. I can enjoy the Roxie until Drew (Moon Audio) figures out a working cable!

This is just pure speculation, but could the Roxanne sound a bit warm or with less treble(this has been reported lately) than their previous models because the pot is adding resistance in series to the monitors?  For example, resistor adaptors are used, and usually they skew the FR and don't really exactly what they do, but they have been known to cut the treble, and add bass(not sure if this was the case, somebody correct me if I'm wrong)?  Is the pot like resistor like the ER4S, but it's adjustable(which is what a potentiomemter does)?

^ it should not affect the mids and treble at least in theory as the pot is only applied to the bass signal wire which is completely separate from mids and treble. I think the dark sound people are experiencing about Roxanne is a combination of many factors. As far as I can hear, My custom Roxanne at 9 o'clock position on the bass pot and DX90 doesn't sound dark. It's quite neutral when I compare it to my JH16 which is now brighter and noticeable bump on upper bass.
