New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

Also, not everybody is capable of hearing all frequencies equally. Some people can only hear up to 15-16k & other can hear beyond 19-20k. This obviously plays a huge part too in how people perceive sound.

Do you know anybody who can hear beyond 19-20k? If you do you can refer them to the group ( can't remember the name) who were conducting tests which for around 100 years could not find anyone who could pass hearing test beyond that range.

And so commences another week...

Dude I suppose its been 6 months now right? You are one tough guy. If I were you, I would have long cracked and gave up. I was bitching around when my acrylic order was delayed for 2 weeks of my expected shipping date (which included several mails and giving up the CF case or wait even longer). I have long since enjoyed my Roxanne, but the waiting experience still left a bad aftertaste on my mouth which will definitely will not be forgotten.

I hope you get yours soon.

Wish I could hear up to that range...I can't hear anything above 16KHz.

Yup, I agree with this.  Read this thread on why headphone curve is not flat, and why we cannot rely on headphone graphs to judge the characteristics of the headphones.

http://www.head-fi.org/t/708803/why-does-headphones-fr-graph-not-look-neutral-like-a-straight-line-like-output-of-devices-why-is-the-high-end-have-lots-of-peaks

The raw frequencies shouldn't be flat. But the compensated graphs should be as close to flat as possible, as is the target of golden ears.

And so commences another week...

Potato, I know you are ahead of me and I am anxiously waiting for you to announce your notice.

I don't want to pour salt in our open wounds, but the timeline doesn't make sense to me.

On Feb 17, I called and was told my CF order was within the next 15 to enter production.  Corbyn would not offer time estimate to completion.

On March 8, I sent an email asking to cancel CF and change to acrylic.  I was told it had entered production.  Too late to change.

On April 7, I called and was told it would ship end of the week/beginning of next.

On April 15, I called and left a message begging for an update.  No reply....

I have never worked with carbon fiber.  Can it really take more than 6 weeks to produce one set of these??

If so, and you still have a CF order outstanding....you are looking at forever for your order to arrive :frowning2:

I tried some test tones at home and at 19khz, i couldn't hear a thing let alone 20khz.

As you age, your sensitively towards higher freqs deteriorates. This is perhaps a reason why warm (dark) iems/headphones sound more pleasant since its less fatiguing.

I hate to pour salt in your wounds but why do believe anything JH Audio tells you.? The Roxanne production has been one misstep after another.

I love the Roxanne SQ (based on the universal demo) and that's the reason I won't cancel my order even if I could. I don't even mind waiting if I had been constantly notified as good things are worth the wait. Depending on my eventual listening experience, I might continue to sing praise on the Roxanne, but wouldn't want to relive the agony of this chaotic uncertainty.

Maybe by the time you get your Roxanne, they will be selling the Rosette!

Whatever they are coming up with in the future, I have no wish to relive this. I understand orders have overwhelmed them and things may not go as they planned. My minimum requirement is that when there is a delay, keep your customers constantly informed. After all I have other iem and ciem to play with.

It appears they have reached the critical mass that many small companies reach. The sales side cannot conceive of slowing orders and operations simply can't keep up. It's now come down to the squeaky wheel getting the grease. It's actually quite a fortunate position to be in, but return buyers do ultimately become more scarce.
