100 ohm range

So if the sound changes over time, would it sound a lot different after say 10 years? Or does the sound change initially then stay the same.
I am not a fan of burn in with iems. . I have mine being the oldest about 4 years. Other than my taste changing I do not think they have. I think what happens is we become more aware of what we are hearing and can describe it better

Do your oldest still fit as they did initially?
Yes they do. There are many myths attached to this hobby
And in CIEMS there is the most
I have list 45 pounds and counting and it has no effect
On my fit of any of them.

Relax and buy or don't buy. But do not worry
How long they will last or a new model is coming
Or the new pair will sound far better.
The eviction of these products is at a point now
I do not think there is muchore to have.

Tried out the Demo 13, 16, and Roxannes at the meet yesterday.

Roxanne was definitely on a different level, and part of me thinks I might be a basshead in denial, as I seemed to like the Roxannes on nearly full bass mode for a lot of songs. Then again, I tested it with Hip Hop, so yeah.

Just based on the demos, I'd rate them

Roxanne > JH16 > UE18 > JH13 > K10

Though in regards to the K10, I didn't feel as if I had a good fit/seal, as the bass was very lacking. The rest of the spectrum was excellent though.

Sad to hear that the Roxannes are still really really slow at being made, makes me glad I couldn't afford the Roxannes and got the 16s instead. Rest assured though, assuming the Roxannes are at least as good as the demos, and more than likely far superior to them once placed into a custom shell, you'll all be very very happy with your purchases

Other than bass. How would you rate them.
Detail
Layers
Tonal accuracy
Clarity

K10 is very famous in its bass department. I think the seal was definitely off. I even heard from my friend saying K10 can have too much bass sometimes :)

I am a huge fan of Hip hop too. And for me, it goes K10 > JH16 = JH13 > Roxanne.  JH13 is technically a bit higher than JH16 and roxanne though IMO.

I would like to disagree with that. The Roxanne in some ways is above the 16 and 13. The 16 is just as good as the 13 except with heavy bass as then the 16 can keep up. Other than bass and especially on bass light tunes the 13 and 16 sound very much the same. The K10 I wan to hear and have not as yet. Maybe someone can bring a demo pair to the ny meet

In what department you find roxanne is better than JH13 FP? JH13 FP for me is more tonal accurate. It has more neutral mid presentation and linear treble that extends way further than roxanne. JH13 has more micro detail, and transparency. The soundstage width is about the same size as roxanne. The roxanne does have a more sense of depth. JH13 FP presents clarity with better balanced/combined resolution and brightness. In contrast, roxanne has a peak at 7-8 K and then roll off pretty badly, so although it does sound like it has greater instant clarity/detail because of the lifted brightness, it can make some songs sound harsh/sibilant and lack of transparency. Increasing the bass does help, but then it make the mid and treble sound more dull. Roxanne has better bass than JH13 for me because I am a hip hop fan and I am a fan of good quality of bass, but some people might not like the bass gain.

JH16 FP on the other hand, doesn't have as extended treble as JH13.  I prefer it over roxanne because the mid is not recessed to the extent of roxanne's. Without bass, the frequency response of roxanne sounds so like the old verison of JH16.

I will have to wait for the custom version of my K10 too. The demo I auditioned have similar technical ability of JH13 but with a more accurate and neutral tuning to my ears.

I agree with some of what you say. And it is obvious to me you have listened to them. And this makes this discussion a good one Here is where the Roxanne is better and you may agree here. . Music layers , especially with complex music.

As for the jh all I have is FP. The 13 is thin compared to the Roxanne , but the Roxanne does have a upper mid is recessed . I do not know why they did this. It sounds like an LCD3 does. But this does make it less fatiguing.

So how am I doing. ??

That's funny, because I found Roxanne more accurate and has more natural tone than my JH16Pro. Plus wider and deeper soundstage (bass at 9 o'clock). JH16Pro sounds more like electronic to me compared to Roxanne. Including universals, I have not heard of any in-ear monitors like the Roxanne which has the overall presentation similar to a full size can.

Not sure how you guys judge clarity, but to me if I don't have to focus to hear each instruments/elements in the music playing then I say it's clear. To me that's how Roxanne presents the music. You can tell which elent is in front and behind but you don't need to mentally isolate other elements just to hear one. Of course, I can hear the same elements on JH16, but there are details I need to focus on just to confirm it exist.

Another thing is the micro details are much more noticeable on Roxanne than on my JH16.

I have not heard of JH13 nor K10 but definitely for me.

Roxanne > JH16Pro.

Are those the FP versions of 13 & 16?

Yep I agree, Roxanne has better layers due to its better depth and more 3D like sound.

Apart from the bass weight, JH13 FP isn't thin at all IMO compared to roxanne. On the contrary, roxanne sounds thinner than JH13 in terms of overall frequency response if the bass of roxanne is tuned the same as JH13.

LCD 3 might have a little recess upper mid, but not to the extent of roxanne to my ears. Also LCD 3 has a cut at lower treble region (8K Hz), compared to a lift at the same region in roxanne. So this makes the roxanne has very different tone than LCD 3.

Not to mention the unbelievable bass and treble extensions and the bass control on the LCD 3, roxanne just can't keep up with it, not a chance.

I hope my roxanne can open up more with time. I am fine with the recessed mid, I am fine with the lift at lower treble. I just can't stand treble roll off....
