BTW I am Recieving mine this friday...hope I don't get any major flaws...at less not on the IEM themself...

If not it will cost me another $60 to ship it back becasue I am in australia and it might take a month to get them back...

PS. And no, spokes and and extra hole is not the right example... it is more like a different color screw for the left and right supension. You know it different but you can't really see it while driving it.

You can't see the spokes while you're driving too, right?

Anyway, hope that JH will sort this out including the shipping fee (if possible).

I get a good seal but my right earpiece is slightly large to the point of being a bit uncomfy... JH Audio asked ot give specific info on where it's tight, but I can't for certain point to anything specific.  It feels like my jaw must have been slightly shifted when I took the impressions - just larger overall.
give it sometime and see if it disappears..if not, the best way is to take a new impression of right ear..dont trying to point out where the pain it because normally it will not get sorted and might cause other place to hurt too.

Congrats and do share your impression and photos once you received them.

Btw, you ordered CF or acrylic?

I'll let you do the judging.

I'm in this camp. There are competitors out there who can get their IEMs right, every time, or at least give the impression that they do. This is top line stuff... no room for error. If there is, you would have thought that JHA would stop if from going out to at least give the impression that every IEM that leaves is perfect. This thread alone would make interesting reading for a prospective buyer. I have to admit, if I was buying now and came across this thread, I would be running a mile I think...

Its in everybody's interest to reject imperfect IEMs. If you don't, it gives the message to JHA that it's acceptable to send out imperfect examples. JH wouldn't exhibit trash at the shows where he is actually trying to promote and sell the units... so we shouldn't be putting up with it.

Well JHA is still around for a reason...and that is they do sound very good.

Most of us here are in it for the sound so we sort of close a blind eye on the other issues.

I'm into Ferrari's due to their performance but there would be no way I would be accepting a Ferrari with scratches down the panels. It won't effect performance granted... but it's not right.

And I would wager cosmetics does play a big part in CIEMs - otherwise there wouldn't be all the options of colours, artwork etc.

I agree. Why are they using carbon fiber again? Last time I hear it does not make a ciem sound any better than acrylic. Unless one believes otherwise :)

I looked very closey and got out some lights and equipment this morning. The fourth bore hole does not have a sound/travel tube and is only 1.5 tenths of a cm, so I think for sound/structure its a non-issue. The only issue is cosmetic. It looks like someone was going to put the sound tube there, recognized they were on the wrong side when drilling the hole, and stopped quickly. The monitors themselves sound better every time I use them. I may send them back in a week or two for a re-fit and I'll deal with cosmetics then, but I may not too. The bore holes are noticeably smaller then my JH13's which may make them either harder to clean (this is bad), or make it harder to get random particles in the bore holes (this is good). I guess one will become appearent down the road after alot of use. These things sound fantastic though. I will assume the two dots on the side of the + is the indicator, and right now I have them set at 4 oclock. Sound incredible. Good luck everyone, I hope the wait is worth it to you, it was to me.

Interesting feedback - thanks. Glad that the sound is living up to your expectations... afterall, that was just one of the reasons we signed up to this.

I'd be still bummed out with the mistake. These are top flight, IEMs. I still stand by the fact that they should be perfect. Every set coming out should be fit for the Queen... but I suspect that the Queen would never ever be presented with a set with a extra hole in the first place. They're your IEMs so I guess it's your choice as to what you do... but you don't work hard for your money to buy things which aren't quite as they should be. They don't have three bore holes and one mistaken drill mark in the pictures on the website... and I couldn't live with the fact they they aren't as good as they could be. But each to their own.

I'm not being a difficult customer - I'm just expecting to be sent something that matches what is being advertised.

This is my first set of JHs... I don't know if my nerves could cope with ordering another set.

It's actually too common across all brands. JHA is not unique here.

Funny isn't it? You would have thought that the laws of averages would make these poor examples crop up very regularly on review samples wouldn't you?

Just got of the phone with JH Audio...
Still delays on the CF case, if you switch to acrylic now, the wait is still 4- 6weeks.
Keeping the CF shell will result in another few months wait... yes still a couple of months and they did not have a definite answer on how many months...

I am seriously going to consider that.
