Finally, got this email 5 mins ago. My order Number is 12015 during BF. But my impression was arrived on 12/12/2013. I get regular, None CF ones. So it takes a little bit less than two months.

Any new updates on the easy screw up nuts/cable?  I been follow this thread to about 150 pages and didn't catch up lately.

Can not wait to put them on. Also any updates of where I can buy the AK240 now?

Thank you!

Your Q number and impressions received were slightly later than mine and I still have no news from them. I'm 119xx btw. And so the wait continues...

*I'm acrylic too btw.

Same with me, my order no. for acrylic is 119xx and they received the impressions on Dec 4th. It looks like they are working on a LIFO sequence.

They put the impressions they receive at the bottom of the pile then when they started working, they begin on the top of the pile. I suppose their staff never worked on fastfood or any retail chain. If they did I'm sure they won't last long.

Believe me, I have many top DAPs, and the X5 is great, not just good. It would be great even at 700$.

am surprised how can a $350 dap can sound 90% as good as a $1200 dap hm 901 ,

forget 90%, how can it even sound 50% as good as a 901 ??

is it technology becoming better and cheaper or fiio is just a genius ?

why would i ever pay $2500 for ak 240, or even $1000 for calyx m / zx1 ??

since am getting something almost equally good at $350 !!!!

and since am only using the daps for the roxannes , x5 would be powerful enough to drive them also ( no over the ear headphones)

A bit OT, but I imagine of interest to folks interested in the Roxanne: How does the X5 sound in comparison to the other top DAPs you have?

You forgot the rule of diminishing return in the audiophile world... And not to mention there also DAPs that are way overpriced and others charging more not just for the DAPs' audio capability but also the design and UI etc.

I everyone.  I'm a newbie to this hobby so I've been reticent to chime in but wanted to share my Roxanne story in case it's helpful.  I ordered my Roxanne's (CF) back at CamJam, and received them on 1/30 (in case that helps anyone that's trying to estimate where they stand in the ordering pecking order).  Unfortunately I have two problems.  First, the fit of the unit is off; it's much too loose as they sit in my ear.  Kinda funny; I had ordered a pair of JH16's in early July and while the process of getting the mold was downright unpleasant (just short of hurting), my JH16's fit like a glove.  No pain, just a great seal.  The process of getting my Roxanne molds on-site at CamJam thru JH Audio was completely different; no "unpleasantness" at all as the goo was poured into my ears.  At the time I remember thinking, "great!" and summed it up to each audiologist having a different feel, different technique for the process.  Now, I'm just thinking my fit problems started there.  I'm hoping that JH audio can take my original mold from my JH16 order in July and use that for my Roxannes... at least that's what I've asked for!

The second problem I'm having is the infamous "crumbling cap" on the cable connector.  The piece broke off on the 3rd usage of my units, as I was working through the fit issues.  Picture below.  NO "over-screwing" on my part!

I had fairly regular communication from Corbyn and JH Audio throughout my wait for my Roxanne's, and have confidence that they'll be willing to help with my issues above.  I've just emailed them with my issues, so will see what happens, but hoping for the best and at this stage have no reason to expect anything less than a company willing to work with one of their customers.

Look at what jh audio just posted online...

Maybe a sign for all cf orders? (including mine...)

I'm glad they are starting to ship, etc., but that cable issue kind of sucks. Seems to be unresolved?

I think we just wait until they released the revised cable with the aluminium collar and see how it goes from then.

I am now trying the clear cable ... (after trying 3 black cables)  It seems to be holding better than the black ones ...

Final solution will happen when the aluminum nut becomes available ...
