Untwist them I see 4 wire. measure the resistance value, 10 ohms @ max bass, 100 ohms at min bass.

Wow how inventive. Thanks

Thanks very cool to know. So the bass iems have the lowest resistance and the cross over is more of a resister potentiometer for the bass . That's why the 10 ohms at low bass at high bass and 10 ohms at low point . Very kind of you

So there is 8 wires going to the plug. I wonder why it's built that way. Al you really need is 4 wires. .??

Thanks

I  definitely cannot answer this, just like some people using bigger core cable or even square core, some also used 2 wire for each channel. Maybe just for better conductive. Maybe parallel resistance theory? I know know :P

I understand. That I cannot either only the same summation as you double up on each conductor. Hey if nothing else it's more durable. And it could be buy just one cable and use it on both sides of the Roxanne . Your is clear so you can actually see inside the bass control . That's cool.

That's a very cool endeavor!! Have you done this before? Where do you get the parts?

Nope.. still fix the casing design, had to get a CNC machine house to CNC 1 for me. Would cost a small bomb i guess. RWAK120B=>>SR71-B. Hopefully it work :). Still quite thick..30mm.

Same idea has crossed my mind in the past with quite a few different DAPs/amps.

Most recently, I was thinking about NW-ZX1 + Portaphile 627

and, only this morning, I was thinking about combining X5+E12

But it's so much hassle...

This kind of home-modified casework will become a reality when 3D-scanning and 3D-printing become more common in people's homes. I expect we'll see it within approximately 5-10 years, and certainly sooner for wealthy people.

So my Brother got a reply from Corbyn with a little bit more info about the current CF situation. This is the reply:

So basically anyone waiting on a CF doesn't even have a time frame yet. Check back at the end of Jan for an update :(

As I can say they do communicate well. But the length of time is giving most of us to much anticipation . But I do want mine to be perfect no bubbles. And I am waiting for the next posting of an email about an acceptable amount of bubbles or defect that is allowed. If you think it's not coming it is my friends .

Thanks a million for sharing the update (even though the news is sad).

I am dreaming of that day. Basically all you need is a printer and the raw material to make anything your need or want. Who knows you anyone can create their own ciem and don't have to wait anxiously like what we are all been experiencing with Roxanne.

You still need to mount a bunch of bits, design a xover, route, seal, etc. Who knows, maybe a kit would come along though I would see this as makers of CIEMs becoming more common. I think the ear mapping stuff is actually more significant. No impressions and a digital file can be sent to someone for a perfect printing with components installed. Heck, you could see Branwavz CIEMs under $200.
