Haha I do feel that I made a great investment if everything turns out well:)! OK... maybe not an investment haha but I paid roughly 1400 euro's, but that is because of import and taxes... so it would be the same in Dollars I guess... now it is 700 bucks more... :p

I don't think you can use the word "investment" in this hobby. An investment makes you money (not taking into account any risk) over time.

This hobby is always about losing money.

It'll be interesting to see if the universal Roxanne also suffer from QC issues when they finally become available. I've been ready to buy new universals for a few weeks, but I keep waiting on these being released & impressions posted before pulling the trigger on a purchase of a universal from my short list. Now I might have to wait even longer to feel good about build quality.

@Mython

Since JH IEMs in General have good imaging, do you think they would be better than gaming headsets? Because for example in a FPS it helps to hear the direction other players are coming from. Since the imaging is apparently very accurate could I use them when playing on my console? Thanks

My answer is no. I have speakers headphones and CIEM s
That is the order of sound stage as well
Now maybe someone here may tell you different the. Buy a cheap pair of ear buds
And test. But my opinion is heDphones is much better than IEMS for what you
Need.

What does forward sounding, realistic timbre and translucent sound mean. It keeps being mentioned in reviews on head-fi and I have absolutely not a clue what they mean.

Ok I can help as I had to find this out as well

Foward sounding means close to the music.
Imagine sitting at a concert how close you are
To the band is how foward you are.
Rsistic timbre is a fancy way of saying the detail
Of the instruments is realistic. Example
If you had a guitar in the room with you
And you strummed it and compared the tone and the tiny details
That make it real.
As for the other word you got me
People love coming up with new ways to say it sounds really good

Sorry about the cosmetic issues. Thank goodness you have a great attitude, although a difficult pill to swallow.

So....how's the initial sound?

Forgot to ask, what's with your AK 120? Rough time to have it in pieces.

I currently playing them with cowon z2. I like it so far but my intension is pair with ak120 which I had yet fix them. They are fine just that my itchy hand to dismantle them and hope that I can form them into 1 piece with amp into new chassis without IC cable I think it's easier to put inside my pocket.

If I may ask how many wires from base controller to connector that goes to amp ?
From your pic it looks like two groups of 3 is this correct ?

Was the third one translucent (which is semi-transparent BTW) or did you mean transparent sound?

You can find all sorts of info like this in the Wiki pages here:

http://www.head-fi.org/atype/0/Articles

in which you will find a "glossary of terms" here:

http://www.head-fi.org/a/glossary-of-terms

And just cuz' I am so nice here is the definition of "Transparent" - Does not alter the signal in any way. While essentially impossible, the ideal of high-end audio gear is that it reproduces a music signal with as little alteration as possible.
