Lets get back on topic folks

Is it a coincidence that we hear of this price increase after pictures of a set of Roxannes with an Astell & Kern logo appear? It seems to be contagious lol

Apart from that though If they weren't going to honour orders that have already been placed wouldn't they of at least let us know (the people who it would affect) before word got out about the increase?

It is NOT illegal for JH to change the terms of the contract. It would be a breach of contract to do so.

So just got my new cables and they are working just fine.  Back to listening to the Roxannes...happy camper here...:beerchug:

Oh, and because I know you will ask, going off memory, the nuts seem the same design wise, maybe a little more thickness, but cant be certain as I do not have the old ones to compare side by side???  But looking at the pictures I took of the old ones it seems that the rim of the new ones is, what I would call, 'formed' better.  It seems to me that the old ones did not pack out in the tool properly as compared to the ones I have now...this is what my design engineers eyes is telling me. (yes, I design this kind of stuff for a living, I have a background (17 years) in plastic molding, etc.).

Time well tell...:L3000:

They also replaced my case.

Actually the new AK240 has a 2.5' balanced ouptput so this could be one...looks shorter than a 3.5' jack.

Yes and Ted Allen at Headphone Lounge was asked by iRiver to make cables for the new AK240 at CES. Ted's point is that cable looks like a standard 3 ring plug and in order for it to be balanced it needs 4 rings (2 rights and 2 lefts).

YES, Mini-XLR will have been VERY rugged & Professional !   2,5 mm looks like a breakable toy !

They could have done TRRS as well and preserved the 3.5mm slot

Also if I'm not mistaken the 2.5 looks like what you plug into a two-way radio.

NO, TRRS was not possible because they want to avoid someone inserting by mistake a regular 3 pole 3,5mm jack in the 4 poles slot. Apparently this will damage the unit (short circuit ?)
