Unless someone gives me one. In that case I suppose I would take it. smily_headphones1.gif

Yup, take it, try it, understand it doesn't worth 2.4k, sell it, profit?

Wow, $500 for aesthetics now... that's just insane. That money could buy you another nice set of headphones.

Yeah, when the real cost of the labour is factored-in, the pricetag for the CF option looks a whole lot less viable, doesn't it?

I doubt they'll have that many takers for the CF option, now, other than customers also buying the AK240.

Mython, how many hours of effort do you estimate it takes for something like this?

if you ordered your Roxanne in October, do I need to pay the difference for the CF?

Thanks

They can't shift the goalposts on an existing order. If you ordered and paid in October, you're fine.

This is best answered by JH Audio I think...

The reason I stuck my neck out on that is because, if I'm not mistaken, it would be illegal of them to alter the terms of a contract if a price has been agreed, and payment already made & accepted.

If I'm wrong about that, I'll hold my hands up and admit it, but I will be amazed if it is not the case.

At the very least, it would be PR suicide if they refused to honour a paid-up order, unless there were unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, and I don't think misjudging labour costs necessarily fits that description.

As you know, I've been vocal about the complexities and challenges of producing CIEMs fully in real CF, so I completely understand why they have raised the price of the CF option, from hereon in, but I would expect them to honour those who ordered and paid before the price-rise.

But the point of my post is that YOU DONT KNOW, why stick your neck or nose in? It should be a question to JH, who will be able to answer the question definitely.  It is yet another example of some one stating something as fact, the way you did in this instance, when you don't know it is fact, it is misleading information and therefore not helpful to anyone.

You're right.

Point taken.

It may also be dependent upon the contract law in statute in the different place where each buyer lives.

I did not get the CF option and will not have money to upgrade my AK120 to an AK240.

PS.:  I am hoping that Sony comes out with a version 2 of their new portable (with DSD and more space).  Than I might sell my AK120 and move into that direction.

Well then isn't it a bit strange that you asked in here first? You could send email to them directly, how the hell forum users in here can know it anyway, to my knowledge, there is nobody here from JHA.

I fully expect them to honor paid orders.
